Worst current actor or actress you can possibly think of.......tv or cinema

With fall just about here, television will play a bigger role in the coming months.....at least in my house.....

I'm no different than anyone else here concerning the "chemistry" actors or actresses have upon watchers. You either like, dislike or find yourself indifferent to these highly visible human beings. Nothing is worse, however, than a "regular" television personality possessing an insufferable style or chemistry that makes you want to either shut off the tv....or punch them in the noggin.

David Caruso....for me....is the planets most aggravatingly horrific actor....bar none.....that has ever graced the screen. I almost resort to forms of violence ( cursing, throwing household items, etc....) every time I see his role on CSI Miami. He also seems to have quite a bit of pull....and if I didn't know better, I would think he at least co-writes the malevolent dialogue that is pandemic to that show.

Dear God.... I hate that guy....and as unhealthy and childish as it is.....I cannot help it. It truly is a tangible-chemistry thing and only intensifies when coupled with his lack of acting skills.

OK AE, just for you: http://www.cracked.com/funny-116-david-caruso/

And they say acting is not a meritocracy based on brilliance!

Where the hell did I put my sunglasses?

I must be into pain today. I just watched about 25% of that youtube vid and had to stop myself from punching holes in our drywall. Is there no end to this idiots wooden one liners?

I'm confused as to HOW an actor with basically no skill level manages to pull down the salary he does. Gary Sinise is also starting to scare me.......
... or maybe... (puts her sunglasses on and tries to remember her line...) I'm still the worst actor, ever.

HAHAHAHA... priceless stuff. As in WHY would you pay a guy to act so ridiculously woodenly and to look so cheesy-cheap?

Ah, Hollywood. Ah... (takes the sunglasses off) ... hollow wood.

Keanu is definitely up there

Keanu is a terriblly stiff dialogue actor- Cringeworthy delivery in Branagh's "Much Ado About Nothing', A Walk in the Clouds, many others. However is is pretty good at scenes where he just has to react. What was that comedy with Diane Keaton and Jack Nicolson? Keanu made a few scenes really stand out with his facility at facial expression.

Caruso- agreed! I'm also sure some of his smugness eminates from the fact he is making an obscene amount of money delivering some of the "malevolent dialogue"

I thought Robert Pattinson was rubbish in Twilight. He was obviously cast because he had the right look, but his acting was awful.

Tom Cruise, he can't really act, he just plays different narrow variations of himself. I keep looking for the shots where he is standing on a box, such a diddy little man.

I actually thought he was pretty good! I thought Kristen Stewart was terrible, though, waaay too brooding and lackluster for the role. I love the movies, anyway!

Aromi - *LOL* *LOL*

I cannot stand George Clooney and Brad Pitt even if they think they are God's Gift to women . Tom Cruise left the Planet of Sanity many light years ago .My DH dislikes Leonardo di Caprio . Yeah... Keanu Reeves could be less stiff and Ashton Kutcher is just annoying.
Though I love Madonna as a singer and performer- my Gosh - her acting is the worst I've seen.
Without a doubt Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, they are my least favorite.

LOL! Indeed, I fully second Mimi!

At the risk of brutally and impolitely bumping this thread again, I never understood why most women (please excuse this slightly disturbing turn), even the still unborn and/or the long deceased ones see George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Leonardo di Caprio, Ashton Kutcher etc. as "God's Gift to women"

Oh well, I think even that doesn't make these chaps better as actors, NOT just as heartthrobs...

Jennifer Lopez! Agh, wound up watching The Back-Up plan - I will never have those minutes of my life back!

Also find David Caruso wears on my last nerve, but that I hate his CSI Miami character almost as much, so it's a case of two bads making a worse. Every Miami CSI opening:

[ David Caruso makes an inane comment. ]

Yeaaaaaaah! [ Theme music. ]

That almost always has me turning the channel.

Nicolas Cage. Probably the least believable leading actor I have ever seen.

I was once told that Simon Baker of The Mentalist was a key reason for the show's success due to his "heartthrob" status.

Now I don't mind him as an actor, but... I really think the guy looks like a marionette elf!
Reeves, Cruise etc., pretty ropey, but how about Kevin Costner?

Di Caprio has it in him (see What's Eating Gilbert Grape) but hasn't done much since.

Rachel Ward was an atrocious actress, luckily enough she appears to have retired.

Inselaffe - methinks you're a film buff from your avatar!
Rachel Ward- there's a blast from the past- The Thorn Birds ! She never really worked much since then.

Luckily for viewers!

Ooooh, yes. Her bad acting probably stands out so much because normally noone THAT bad would ever score a role. I love her music, though!

Weird. I thought Kristen Stewart was actually quite good, so I'm the other way round. I haven't read the books though, so maybe that changes your perspective on it.

I kind of have to agree with Inselaffe, Nicholas Cage's acting has NEVER impressed me. I couldn't understand all the fuss over "Raising Arizona"... and find his somewhat unchanging facial expressions very, very dull.

Honestly, IMO he suffers from the same lack of emotional connection with the material that Keanu does, rendering both of them utterly unbelievable.

Females who are awful actors? Pamela Anderson probably tops my list, as she hasn't really (to my knowledge) been in much that wasn't somehow centered around her "engineered assets," but really isn't a "current" actor as far as I know.
Man..this is great! I thought I was the only one who just couldn't see the "heart throb" status/appeal of some of these guys. I agree with all of the men & women listed but one. I actually enjoy watching Julia Roberts
post #27 of 45
I forgot to Mention John Travolta His Whiney Little voice really get's to me
And jennifer Lopez the Mouthy Latina lol
Current? All of them. Yes, seriously.

Heather Graham - such annoying actress- I don't know why either............

I know you can't call them actors as such but the Housewives of Washington DC(on Bravo ) ....... OMG - save me.......
That's difficult as there are many, but I'll vote for nicolas cage. Playing the same type of cheesy quiet badass in every movie. And he should stop trying to make his voice sound deep half of the time.
George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Leonardo di Caprio, Ashton Kutcher, Tom Cruise ........none of these dudes looks ever really floated my boat.
Give me Ewan MacGregor before he dumped his brogue, or one of the Fiennes brothers (in Ralph's case, pre- Potter series, actually) Oh wait- none of these are American. My bad

Michael Caine post 1969. The same guy in every movie.

Can't stand Hayden Christiansen. Its like he isn't comfortable in his own skin yet.

He looks like he needs iron tablets and some vitamin C .
..........................

This actor from the recent Wolfman movie- what were they thinking .............
Nicolas Cage, what? As of late, he picks up roles for the money but he played some kick-ass roles back in the day.

The Weather Man, Adaptation, Face/Off, Leaving Las Vegas .....
Kevin Costner. His best acting role was his only scene as the corpse being dressed for his funeral in the beginning of The Big Chill. As Dorothy Parker might have commented, he runs the acting gamut all the way from A to B

I hate some of the quirkier actors who get kudos and all the "right" roles, who I think cannot act at all; like Julianne Moore, Tom Wilkinson, or Johnny Depp...

I think Brad Pitt is dreadful and so is Angelina Jolie.

Well . . .The Man Who Would be King was '75 Educating Rita in the early 80's and Without a Clue in '88 but yes, he's admitted that he's done a lot of crap (direct quote) for the money, the fear that he had to play leading men roles in bad films rather than supporting roles in good ones--otherwise the powers that be would have forgotten him. I guess one could say the same of Robert de Niro, playing the same parts over and over again, but I can't think of either being as bad as some others which are-- well, simply bad.

Nicolas Cage and Kevin Costner? If NC had done only one film and if he had dropped dead upon completion and if that film had been Wild at Heart then we'd think higher of him (provided we forgot about David Lynch behind the lens) ---I dunno. I guess there's got to be a dud in the Coppola genes to balance the talent and taste of Sofia as a director.
Now if Kevin Costner had done just one film and died immediately thereafter, some people would probably have payed good money for that.
*sigh*
I suppose JFK was his most ambitious (read: the worst) Even conspiracy theorist Mort Sahl quipped that in real life Jim Garrison was an intellectual but Costner played him as if he had just fallen off the turnip truck.

Be that as it may, compared to David Caruso . . .

Keanu Reeves

He's not only a terrible actor, but dumber than dirt too. My girlfriend and I were eating dinner in a Thai bar/restaurant in Hollywood once, and he walked in with the rest of the members of his band (Dogstar?). They were dressed like homeless people. Halfway through dinner, Keanu gets up to go to the men's room, and all the Thai waitresses start running around with their cameras getting ready to ambush him when he comes out. When he comes out, and they are all milling around him taking pictures, he says, "Ummm, what's going on?" He actually looked genuinely confused. When the waitresses were all through basking in his greatness, he actually skipped like a little girl back to his seat in the dining room. Pitiful.
a whole bunch...i'm no expert, but Tom Cruise deserves a special mention...he always plays "tom cruise" in his movies, the only exceptions i think are Lestat because he really seemed like he worked on it -i could still see tom there though- and the last Samurai movie he made when he was the least tom cruise. I have to say that i really enjoyed his Minority Report at least.

Couldn't stop laughing at the head-butt ones from 2:18 onwards.
