Yes, even though Coty said they had never spoke to GaGa about a fragrance.

Spring 2012 is the release date.

I hope they take a chance and go out on a limb with it.

I hope so too! The fact that it won't be out until Spring 2012 is encouraging, it looks like they're going to spend a lot of time on it.

If Lady G has anything to do with the fragrance.....it will be out on a limb for sure.....and that will be a good thing!!!

It would be fantastic if they released something appropriately weird, but I'm not so sure about that.

Wouldn't Lady Gaga be a great fit with Thierry Mugler, by the way?

I am sure Coty will "dumb it down". It would be a better partnering with Etat Libre d'Orange.

I find the whole Lady Gaga phenomena so interesting. I think people think she's outrageous because they are told before hand that she's outrageous. Her music, while quite fun to listen to, is really just mainstream, Neo-Disco; her fashion tricks are no more 'outrageous' than those of Nina Hagen, Boy George, Todd Rundgren (see photo) or even Cher in their heydays. So why all the surprise that this mass-media celebrity is doing a fragrance with a mass market fragrance company? I'm sure Miss Gaga has never even heard of Etat Libre d'Orange.

What Should Be In It??? :-)

I suppose latex, eyelash glue and things like that would be too obvious. I wonder what fragrance she actually wears, if any.

Hard to say if she does. I'd love to make it for her lol

I agree about the fashion tricks being attention getting. People crave novelty.

One famous dandy, Gerard de Nerval, walked a pet lobster on a leash around Paris.

That might actually be closer to the truth...or tiger balm.

I don't think it is a surprise. I just don't think the result will match the persona that she puts forward.

I agree.I will be amazed if it isn't totally mainstream.

Yeah! Imagine that--- Gaga by Thierry Mugler EDP. The two would be perfect for each other.

Do you think COTY has the you-know-whats to crank out something freaky???

I'm such a cynic. The time will be spent on corporate meetings telling the design team to go back and make the product cheaper so they can make more money. If the result is not ALL TOP notes, I will be flabberghasted.
