HELP: PENHALIGON'S Lp No. 9 for Men

Hey guys! I need your noses again. I'm thinking of doing a blind buy of Lp No. 9 for Men 100ml by Penhaligon's. I have no clue at all as to how it smells like. How does it smell like? I read from the reviews, it is being compared to Opium Ph. I have Opium Ph, I like it but it's not really GREAT, you know what I mean?

What do you think? Is it worth it? Does it smell good? I mean, GREAT?!

Thank you in advance!

IMO, it's a relatively safe blind buy. It's one of my personal favorites. I don't know if I'd necessarily compare it to Opium, though. To me, it's completely different. I'm not the best at reviewing or describing fragrances. All I can say is that it's warm and sensual.

Is it for warm or cold weather? Is it a casual or formal scent? A day or night?

it's a niche version of Opium. i have now see a lot of differences between the two...but overall, yes, Opium is a good reference.

^^If that's the case, then I will have to sell my Opium and get this one instead. hahaahha

Any more insights?

it's greener (which opium is not) and smells much more refined & luxurious... good for daily wear

I agree.

Its funny how different people smell different things. I think Lp9 is one of the most vile things I've ever smelled. Not at all a safe blind buy IMO. Sample first.

I love it.
It has a scotch and gingerale opening over geranium and cinnamon/nutmeg heart.
Opium PH is a decent parallel to draw, though LPNo9 is a lot more "British" than Opium.

I am in fact one of two Basenoters who call LPNo9 for Him our "signature scent".
I will never be without it!

This sounds interesting! I think I may need to sample this and Endymion. I hear so much about them.

It has a weird clove/bubblegum thing it does for about an hour that put me off it. I quite liked the drydown-- rich masculine oriental w/vanilla and so on-- but the bit where you smell like purple necco wafer and dubble bubble is a bit much for me.
