what do you make of it?

As to the article itself, it was lightweight and more of a "filler" piece.
I can imagine Aussie moms now stockpiling their Charlie and Revlon empties in the hope they may one day be worth millions.
Still, nice to see a public nod to our beloved hobby here down under.

EDIT: Oh, and I think that woman Annabel in the comments section is a leeeeetle bit deluded.

In real estate it is location, location, location (or at least it used to be). In bottles, coins, stamps etc. it is rarity, condition and demand. The Guerlain bottle in the article may be a sole survivor or at least one of a very few, and would be in great demand by fragrance bottle collectors. I would bet a contemporary bottle of Charlie or the like has a few tens of thousands of similar bottles available nationally in closets, bathrooms and flea market stalls, and will continue to do so in slowly declining numbers for many, many decades in the future.

yes! specially the ironic hypocrisy of being a smoker that thinks people who use perfume are "assaulting" other people with their scents.
