Ooh - Roberto, that smells nice to me!

Ropinon must be the nose of the month for me, Ive been doing Accenti, some Anglomania and the favourite of this chilly autumn here - Soir de Lune. So I go for that one today aswell. The other day a coworker actually asked that a meeting should be held in my office, because "it smells so nice there". (Note to self: watch out, dont overapply...)
The last of the Gucci Accenti sample I have with me in 107 degree Arizona- for Dominique Ropion Sync Day
post #8 of 55
Oooh, so many good ones to choose from for todays synchronized friday.
I've boiled it down to a couple of frags: Ysatis; Pure Poison or Sexy Graffiti.
Hmm ... I shall go with the first!

YSATIS de GIVENCHY

Happy "name day" Sophi! Thank you all for your birthday
wishes yesterday - I had a wonderful day. Proud to be one of the
"fabulous fifties."
So, its Dominique Ropion Friday and I am wearing Alien Eau Luminescente,
a fresh, floral amber.
My SOTD is Escada Casual Friday for Synchronization Fridays (a Dominique Ropion fragrance).

Notes include Bergamot, Lavender, Tarragon, Coffee, Lemon, Licorice, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Coriander, Cloves, Lily of the Valley, Carnation, Cotton Flower, Jasmine, Cashmeran, Cedar, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Oakmoss, Tonka and Patchouli.

Not just a name day, Sophi, it is like celebrating your own personal Patron Saint, the second birthday of sorts. Right? More wisdom to us all from St.Sophia.

Ropion day.... Hmmmm..... Nothing really to wear or write home about. Not at the moment, although I did have fun with his creations. Used to. Oh well.

Will wear Shiloh then for a casual Friday.

Also, please remember Neil Morris' birthday tomorrow.
Happy Name Day, Sophi! It's a special, meaningful cause for celebration, indeed.

Joining in Ropion Day with Vivienne Westwood Anglomania. A little gem with a wonderful mix of contrasting cool and warm notes.

top notes: cardamom, coriander, green tea
middle notes: rose otto, nutmeg, violet
base notes: vanilla, amber, leather

Have a lovely Friday, all!

oops, slipped into Shalimar edp before realizing this was synchronized friday. Tonight I will be in Carnal Flower
post #15 of 55
Sorry, I too already applied Feminite du Bois.
Joining LGD in Ysatis today... yummy!
I started the day with Mitsouko extrait but I will wear Frederic Malle Geranium Pour Monsieur this evening to tip my hat to a very talented perfumer indeed! He shows such impressive range. Safari was one of my favourites back in the day (though I famously got 'told off' by a sales assistant in a posh department store because 'it's not for blondes').

I have only two samples of Ropion fragrances to choose from: Carnal Flower (thanks, Mimi!) and Jungle L'Elephant, neither of which I can wear this early in the day, but I will pick one for later this evening. It's a shame that's all I have because, reading through his list of creations, it appears I'm a fan and have worn a few in the past. I'm very much looking forward to trying Acqua di Gioa.

This morning I'm sampling some vintage Coty L'Aimant flacon mist - which I presume is a cologne formulation. It's not really wearable (for me), but it's fun to sample it at home alone when I can spray without annoying my husband. I can see why people compare it to No. 5. Later, I'll probably wear something suburban and safe as SotD like Pleasures or Pure White Linen to go about my casual Friday.

TGIF!

p.s. Best wishes to Sophi! (I want a name day, too!)

Miss Dior today, because I'm feeling chypre and cheerful.
Also, I'm getting on a plane later, so I wanted to keep it as low-key as possible while still wearing a definite scent.

Have a good one y'all. I plan to have a screaming lou-lou of a weekend, at a family wedding with my lovely warm, Welsh cousins.
Catch you on the other side.

Enjoy, Wordbird! A screaming lou-lou of a weekend at a wedding with warm, Welsh cousins sounds like a blast!

Louis Vuitton, Spring 2009 RTW

Happy Second Birthday Sophi!

I'm having a bit of a Duchaufourfest, with Avignon up front and centre, Dzhongka to the left and Baume Du Doge to the right. The first hour was great, but now they aren't playing well at all. My poor beloved Avignon is quivering under the assault from a bag of wilting vinegary bitter salad on the left and a melted rancid chocolate bar on the right. Hope this cold goes soon!

Currently wearing Hermes Eau Claire des Merveilles. I 'm writing performance reviews today and have decided that to be at my very best for each one, I'm going to wear a different scent (only on my left wrist) for each review I write. The first review went very well in the company of ECdM, and I'm now changing over to Chanel Cuir de Russie. Not sure what scent No. 3 will be, but thank goodness for decants that travel in my purse!

Great Friday and weekend wishes to all!

RL Safari for Ropion day

Happy Belated Birthday to Kewart!! I am sorry I missed your day

Happy Name Day to Sophi!

Today I am wearing Aqua di Gioia from a sample. I think Ropion is one of the perfumers.

Happily basking in the monster sillage of AMARIGE, created by Dominique Ropion!!!!!!
For the afternoon I will synchronize with Ms.E in Ropion's CK Euphoria -- I forgot I still had some left, "the corners" like Divatologist says, although it is a perfectly round decant bottle! You know what I mean....
Today I've been in L'Ombre Dans L'Eau, which was just perfect!

It hasn't worn off yet, but I've dabbed a bit of Rose Barbare on my left arm for sniffing. Powerful peach note in that!
In honor of Mr. Dominique Ropion, YSATIS... a scent so powerful, I could still smell it amid the chlorine after my swim this morning! I may change to Carnal Flower this evening... (these are my only Ropions) ... Or, I may not, if I'm still enjoying my Ysatis aura.

Happy name day to Sophi! Happy FRIDAY to all!!
This afternoon and no doubt ,evening - it's Amouage Ubar. It really does layer very well with Mitsouko .
The oakmoss in Ubar really helps new Mitsouko extrait along.
Continuing the Ropion celebration, my sote is Krazy Krizia.

Evangeline, I used to wear Krazy Krizia. I loved that scent. Also Krizia.

I tried to join Friday Scent Synch in Kenzo Jungle L'Elephant this evening, but it hit me the wrong way. I remember loving this, but I just can't tolerate now. My tastes are going through a change. I scrubbed it off as best I could, and now I smell like Ponds cold cream, Sea Breeze, a sprtiz of Eau d'Hadrien, and a faint trace of ineradicable L'Elephant - not a bad combination.
My SOTE is L'Artisan Nuit de Tubereuse.

In very good company and in-synch by wearing Ysatis today. My bottle of Ysatis was actually a gift I gave my Mom many, many years ago and she never wore it. I rescued it, wiped off the protective layer of dust it was hiding under and gave it a new home. I rarely wear it and I'm not exactly sure why. It was just beautiful on me today!

Happy name day to Sophi (even if I don't know what that really is!! It sounds fun, though!)

Hey to Miss Sophi on your "second birthday". How fun is that - you don't have to worry about being another year older, you just get to be happy about the day.

**Bows to Le Grand Duc** My scent today for Dominique Ropion day was:

Pure Poison - the only Poison I can bear to wear, but I like this one very much!
Hope you had a lovely day Sophi! I enjoyed the pictures you've posted.

SOTD: Beige (from a sample)

Glad I waited - the topnotes made me think that I'm wearing someone else's perfume. Pretty but "not me". Now, a good hour or so later, it is a much more pleasant floral...

Will wait until tonight to wear a Ropion scent (will probably be Une Fleur de Cassie)...
