I wouldn't protest a makeover, but I think we have more important concerns at the moment - like the value (rather than the appearance) of our dollars.

So FDR and Obama are the only faces on our potential new currency, eh?

I don't know whether the resemblance is deliberate or not, but most designs look so much like the Euro-bills

Oh, I think everything included or excluded from these new designs is quite deliberate.

Ugh..reminds me of the money we used to play Monopoly. We had gorgeous notes back in the 1800s and early 1900s. Why not use note themes like these, updated to modern inventions/events and anti-counterfeiting standards of course:

Edwin H. Blashfield's Science Presenting Steam And Electricity To Commerce And Manufacture

and

Shirlaw's beautiful design for the $10 note, Agriculture and Forestry

I don't see any need for a makeover - some things should remain the same- it's classic ( like some of our perfumes )
Like Lilybelle said- time to concentrate on the value of the dollar rather than it's appearance. The USD has dropped so much against other currencies including the Euro - in the past 12-18 months - it's scary . A makeover should be the LAST thing on their minds. Nobody cares what it looks like ,we want it to be worth its weight and hold its value.
Otherwise we'll all be left with good looking 'funny money '.

Before anyone jumps to conclusions and opines on what or what not our government should be doing, please note the designs found in the link are by an independent design project, not by the US Mint.

Thank God too !

Meh. Certainly we need to get away from any partisan symbolism on any of it - why create resentment on either side? As far as the teepee bill, it seems cynical considering what happened to the Native Americans once we took over.

I'd like to see

Bart Simpson
Pat Sajack
George Carlin
Jesse Owens (a hero of mine)
Marlon Brando

on the currency. Maybe not Brando from "Last Tango in Paris", but perhaps the ribbed T shirt Brando from "Streetcar". I also love the idea of a "Wheel of Fortune" name puzzle on the back of a bill with "On[] Doll[]r" to guess.

Those designs are horrible.

An armored truck?
A slogan that suggests extreme nationalism?
Hollywood?

Is that what we want to be known for?

Seriously, half of those shown looked like they were designed by the blind.
(note, I"m only speaking of those shown in the slideshow at the link given - i haven't checked out the official website).

Yes, I realized that upon further exploration of the page. I guess I'm overly sensitive these days to the direction our country is taking... that, and I'm reading Atlas Shrugged....

But, yes.

I'm actually with lilybelle on this. It's a ridiculous attempt at distraction from the myriads of people still losing their homes by the media and the G.
