Signature fragrance for my birthday, 17

I'm a 17-year-old guy, looking for a fragrance that is not really that popular (I'm NOT interested in 'Only the Brave', 'Acqua di Gio' and all that stuff.),
but not way too unusual/funky or offensive.

I'm going to my local fragrance store to try some stuff, and this is what I have so far:
Rive Gauche
Live Jazz
Kenzo pour Homme
Bvlgari Aquva Marine

Honestly, the only experience I have with fragrances is stealing some of my father's Hugo One when I was about seven, but I'm really interested in getting into the world of fragrances, so I'd appreciate any help.

A few notes I guess I should include..
-I'm more artistically inclined (music, literature,..)
-Currently summer in Santiago, Chile.
-Prefer more masculine fragrances

Thanks in advance.

Try Kiehl's Musk . Gets really good after 30 minutes.

Also try White Musk from The Body Shop

Burberry London - great for cooler weather

Cool Water is another one to test

I've been told it's a bit too femenine, but I will try it myself nonetheless.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Not at all. There's a Kouros vibe to it in the opening.

I can't say I really enjoyed Kouros, but thanks for the suggestion.

I think Rive Gauche is a good idea. It's one of my favorites.

Yes, from what I've read, it's exactly what I'm looking for... but I was wondering...
considering my age (17), would I be able to "pull it off" ?

If you're into fragrances, you can pull anything off just have some confidence and the right attitude.

I know a lot of basenoters dislike Bleu de Chanel, but I think this will be a great fragrance for you to try out. To me it's a very refreshing everyday casual/going out/formal wear and all year round. Theres just something really good in this fragrance that I always want to just reach for this one and have to refrain myself from doing it or else I would never wear any of my other colognes.

Another one is Gucci Pour Homme 2. I hear great things about it, so I'm going to check it out myself.

Maybe Black XS by Paco Robanne could be another optoin, it's a sweet fragrance.

I perosnally did not enjoy Kenzo Pour Homme, it has a salty marine smell that I can't get over.

I'll keep this in mind =)
I've just always been told "If you wanna use Rive Gauche, you gotta at least be able to grow a beard."
I guess I'll just have to try it myself though.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, keep them coming!

Agreed. If you try it and like it, then go for it.

From a female perspective: Try Jo Malone Lime Basil Mandarin. It's pretty unisex. But I think it leans toward the masculine side...especially in the dry down.

Gaston,

Try Roberto Cavalli Black or Bulgari Black......maybe even Sander for Man.

Give Égoïste by Chanel a try.

Masculine and youthful...hmmmmm.... how about Cartier Roadster, Davidoff Adventure, or Azzaro Chrome Legend?

Chanel Allure Sport.

I wish I wore this when I was 17

I tried this one, found it to be too "citrus-y" for my tastes.
Very suitable for summer, but not exactly what I'm looking for.
Thank you for your suggestion though.

Also try John Varvatos Vintage. Same category as the original, but a more sweet tobacco scent. Very, very nice stuff which sadly doesn't always last that long. +1 more on Fahrenheit, you can never go wrong with this one.
