Amouage Opus II (2010) Michele Saramito Fougère
------------------
Top Notes: Lavender, Absinth, Pepper, Pink Bay Middle Notes: Jasmine, Rose, Cinnamon, Cardamom Base Notes: Cedarwood, Patchouli, Amber, Musk, Frankincense
------------------

This seems to go through a fairly rapid development, and goes quiet sometime between the start of the heart note and the beginning of the base. I like it very much, except for the quietness of it. I wish it stayed as noticeable throughout as it does in the top note. I like it enough to have ordered it, so that should say something about my willingness to get beyond my reservations. I do, however, think it will require more than I applied today to satisfy my nose. I want to say I think there's some confusion about one of the top notes here: the note listed in English as "Pink Bay" is, I fear, a mistranslation of the French "baies roses," which is actually what we usually call pink peppercorns in English. I don't smell bay laurel in this; the pink pepper seems more plausible to my nose.

M7 by Yves St. Laurent

M7 by Tom Ford embodies the male sensuality. It is the seventh men perfume by YSL and the second one created by Tom Ford (who worked as the creative director for YSL at the time). The creators are: Jacques Cavallier and Alberto Morillas. M7 was accompanied by a very provocative advertising campaign with a nude man. We show you one of the moderate ones. M7 man is elegant, sensual, masculine and desirable. The face in the commercials is Samuel De Cuber. M7 is a heavy, rich, intensive and masculine fragrance, dominated by dark, warm and dry precious woody notes with an accord of raw materials and a heavy, natural, earth-like note originating from vetiver. The formula of this perfume encompasses assorted trees and raw, odorous plants. The composition begins with elegant citrusy notes of Italian bergamot, Sicilian mandarin and rosemary from Southern France. The warm heart contains one of the most expensive components – Agarwood, followed by vetiver. The prefume closes with a soft ambergris trail and musky notes. The bottle coloured in warm nuances was created by Tom Ford and Doug Lloyd. The perfume was created in 2002.
