Alternatives to Chanel Allure Homme Sport?

I read some threads on Basenotes and tempted to try Allure Homme Sport (2004? 2007?) from all the good reviews. But before I go out and grab one, the threads I read are about 2 years old and surely something better has come along since the past years? It's nearly the end of 2010 and going to be summer in Australia so a winner fresh, somewhat masculine / citrusy scent is something I'm looking for. Advise please!

Joop! Jump smells very similar to Allure Sport but more fruity and refreshing. You might like it.

Versace Pour Homme is the best alternative to AHS. It is citrusy, similar to AHS, but more elegant and not so synthetic.

Hey Sniffa I'm in Australia too and starting to think about summer. I'm curious though given you just bought GIT why you may be looking to get another fresh scent? GIT not doing it for you? You may also want to try Versace Man Eau Fraiche if you like Versace PH.

Versace PH is mix of Allure Sport/Blanche and Acqua Di Gio. You may like it. I wasn't that much impressed except of first hour that was great.

For summer I really like the Chanel Allure Homme Sport Cologne. It's different from the regular Sport - more cool and citrus. If freshness is important, then Bleu de Chanel is actually rather nice (IMO) for its fresh aspects, but honestly I have no idea how it performs in really scorching heat, since it got introduced here during the Northern Hemisphere dog days.

Versace PH does sound like a good option. The top notes seem quite cooling.

I'm really surprised there isn't more movement for Joop! Jump on this. The two smell almost identical to the point where Jump is considered a clone. However, its a unique fruity/ slightly more feminine twist on the Allure Sport style.

Umm, why would you not want a fragrance because it was released 6 years ago? I don't understand, 6 years is fairly new actually.

Aqua di Gio/ Versace PH smell similar, but I still prefer Allure sport/edition blanche over them. I'm yet to try Joop! Jump though.

Versace pour homme is a great alternative. Its almost a clone of sport but its a litte cheaper. Longevity isn't as good though. Another frag with the same orange creamsicle is boss in motion.

Exactly, there are many alternatives to allure sport/edition blanche, but nothing lasts or projects as good for a citrus fragrance.

If you want to remain under the Chanel umbrella, I would suggest that you try Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche.
I find it to be a particularly long lasting and pleasing woody citrus.

I really don't like Allure Homme Sport at all, but Allure Edition Blanche and Versace Pour Homme are both great.

I tried Versace PH today and didn't think it was all that spectacular for the price tag. What do you guys and girls think about Aqua Di Parma Assoluta for 30yrold like me (more on the younger side)? Sampled it the other day and had mixed feelings, or anything else nice for summer along that line.

I also been thinking about layering Assoluta and GIT, not sure if it's a good idea. GIT and ADG seem to mix quite well together.

I haven't tried AdP Assoluta, however have Intensa which I think is great. AdP Colonia is too outdated IMO, and judging from the comments I received that was confirmed.

I have no experience in layering so I can't help in that department. Good luck.
