Howard Stern talked fragrance this week!

Was just listening to the replays from the past week and caught a bit of Howard talking about fragrances from this Thursday the 16th.

Lisa G. mentioned she was choking on Richard Chrisy's cologne in the hall, which led Howard to say guys don't know how to wear fragrances and end up putting too much on. Howard says he uses three little sprays and you'd have to be close to smell him. Said he uses Tom Ford, but not which one, and something that sounded like "Marvados" (forgive me I'm a n00b). Also said Beth said while she was in the house, she could smell Ronnie The Limo Driver from the car, who wears Mambo and defends it saying, "Chicks love it."

Robin also tried to say she couldn't stand Chuck Zito's cologne, but Howard nipped that in the bud, just like he denies the existence of the mafia, for fear of life and limb.

Interesting that Stern would only use 3 sprays considering nobody would ever get close enough to smell him. He doesn't even walk through the halls at Sirius XM; he has a limo and a cargo elevator to get him to and from the studio. Also, when you're surrounded by well-paid yes-men, nobody's going to tell you that your smell (and your show) are horrendous.

"Marvados" was probably Varvatos. Unfortunately, no specifics were mentioned concerning that or Tom Ford, which I think would be typical of someone trying to keep their signature scent to themselves. Can't blame ol' poodle-hair for that. I cringe when strangers ask what I'm wearing because I never want to say, I couldn't imagine talking about it over a broadcast medium, which is what I find so damn curious about Wayne Newton: He's very public about wearing Paco Rabanne http://www.basenotes.net/ID26121246.html

Frrrrrunkis!

I recall an episode of Howard where Richard Lewis mentioned he'd been wearing Acqua di Selva daily for the past 30 years.

Cool! Thanks for the tip. Always interesting to hear what the celebs are ACTUALLY wearing!

At least he didn't suggest that men should never wear fragrances and just smell like themselves like some gasheads on a certain other show.

Geez! I still have a 1/4 bottle left of Acqua Di Selva from 30 yrs. Ago. Very green and mossy, earthy.

Any of you old Stern fans remember him shilling Lagerfeld back in the day?

Been listening since 1985, but can't recall that.

I'd just like to say that having two Howard Stern threads on the first page makes me very happy.

it must be john varvatos.

stern had a deal with varvatos to wear his clothing on "Americas Got Talent"

makes sense he got his nose around one of the varvatos frags and enjoyed it

I guess money can't buy good taste. I can think of much better designer frags. Even if he's wearing Tom
Fords private collection, still not the best. I wonder what Artie wears......haha.
