Halston Man Amber (2010) Woody Oriental
------------------
Top Notes: Geranium Leaf, Thyme, Bergamot Heart Notes: Pure Amber, Myrrh, Labdanum Base Notes: Oud, Atlas Cedar, Musk
-------------------
Warm, inviting, moderately complex. Predominantly woody, balsamic, and amber notes, with some myrrh resin. The geranium leaf in the top note makes a passing reference to green and floral, supported by herbal thyme, but goes deep fairly quickly. If you like woody orientals, this is probably for you. Much better than the last Halston masculine, by the way.

BPAL: The Death of Autumn

"Dark amber, dead leaves, khus, saffron, bitter clove, chrysanthemum, camellia, galangal, and a drop of oud"

At first, the vetiver + amber combination gives it a bit of a "head shop" vibe, but fairly solidly in 3-star range.
Coming back to it, it's mellowed and gotten a little bit peppery - maybe the clove and galangal coming out? - which is a good argument for diluting these before trying them out.

Creed Himalaya. 97 degrees is the expected high here today. 90's all week long...I'm ready to bust out some Fall scents, but the temperature is not complying! Living in the South has many more pros than cons, but I am ready for some cooler temps. The good side is that we almost never see snow or freezing weather!

One of my "Top Ten" Fragrances

L`Air du Desert Marocain by Tauer Perfumes

The fragrance is composed of spicy oriental notes, inspired by Saharan desert in the moonlight, a Moroccan night. The top is combined of coriander, cumin with a hint of petitgrain. The heart features rock rose and jasmine. The base includes cedar, vetiver and ambergris. L`Air du Desert Marocain was launched in 2005. The nose behind this fragrance is Andy Tauer.
