Essie Licorice. I'm sort of in love with the idea of black polish with black sandals right now.
I changed this morning and now its Essie Steel-ing The Scene. Have to say I got bored with the Deborah Lippman sheer, think in future I will use it as a top coat to add interest to older polishes.

I've been moving, so the nails have been a taking a backseat. Sofie & I did stop for a mani/pedi in Springfield, OH....just before we meet my family for a BBQ. Not only did the mani it not last 3 days, but it was incredibly expensive!

When we got to St Louis, I changed the polish at a local salon to Cajun Shrimp soak off gel.

I'm sporting 3 coats and a clear topcoat of a no-name brand in metallic lime green on fingers.....

I am sporting a patriotic theme in red, white and blue with some tiny stars stuck on the blue.

I'm in another old Cover Girl color, Electric Blue; sort of a turquoise/peacock blue. I have another blue in the same family, a Nicole color, which is a greener turquoise. I prefer the CG and I'll be bummed when it gets too thick to apply.

Be sure to try some OPI thinner if your polish does start to get thick and it all does eventually. You can really extend the life of polish by adding some of this. Also, don't shake your polish, but roll it in the palms of your hand before you use. I've been told that shaking causes air bubbles and air bubbles cause it to dry out even faster.

I'm really liking the blue/turquoise colors right now. I looked at a few of them today at Target.

I painted my nails today with some cobalt blue polish from Sally Hansen ... not sure if I'm going to add my OPI Silver Shatter on top or maybe a coat of DL Across the Universe.

Changing polish today so it will be Essie Lapis of Luxury.
Thanks Shades, good advice! I think I heard somewhere along the line to roll your polish; I'll *try* to remember that. I just found that Electric Blue is available on ebay, as well.

For this morning's pedi I chose OPI Planks A Lot.

Pretty, Terry!

I am wearing an OPI shellac called Strawberry Margarita. Unfortunately, it look very matte because the nail tech didn't put a top coat on it. (I think the shellac has a special shiny top coat you are supposed to "finish" with.)

The shellac has been lasting very well through all my packing & cleaning. My home mani's weren't lasting more than 2 days.

OPI Rosy Mistletoe-Sies on toes. This is a shimmery magenta red.
My nail technician over cut my toe's cuticle today. She was so apologetic but I reassured her that it didn't hurt.
After a lot of trouble and pain and anger (and thinning) I ended up with three coats of Leighton Denny "Forbidden territory". The color is out of this world, but the application was a nightmare. I hope I just got a bad bottle.

Anyone familiar with this brand?

Last time I painted my nails with several different shades was in 1983. This time I did because I just couldn't choose one single shade. I wouldn't do this with outrageously bright shades, though. These BL shades are all quirky and muted and look great together.

I had huge trouble with Butter London Branwens Feather, but today I made my nails in British Racing Green, and all went well. Phew.
