Chanel April

In the bottle it looks a dusty dark rose or light red. Maybe it'll win in daylight, but right now it just looks as any other red would do after a few days without a top coat.

Revlon Flirt...a nice match to OPI Lucky, Lucky Lavender for a fraction of the price.

NYC Prospect Park Pink on my tootsies. A nice, opaque Easter egg pink. Got it for Christmas.

Butter London Disco Biscuit, hot pink with blue sparkles.

It looks different in the bottle than on the nail. I put on three coats, because I really love the sparkles.

Blue sparkles? My ears sure perked up at that! (I really love sparkles too!)

I though of you when I found CND's "Effects" and bought their #561, Sapphire Sparkle. It's a top coat of just the sparkles in that color...really neat. Subtle or not, depending on the number of coats applied. I really like it. think you would too, Shades!

Thanks for mentioning CND. I've not heard of that line ... but I will be looking for it! That is SO me.

Mavala Mava-White

This product has litteraly changed my life. Because I love dark polishes I often have discolored nails (yes, I do wear base!), and it's always been difficult to find the perfect pale "neutral" that'll cover the yellow on the nail plate but not look ugly against my pale skin. Now I just put on a single coat of Mava-White, and my nails look perfect. No yellow, no streaks, just clean, healthy looking nails.

Changing today to Essie Chinchilly.

Zoya Blair a great blackened red. I know it's Spring but its hard for me to let go my dark colors. Plus I received 5 compliments on the color before I even left the nail salon. Next week I'll change over to lighter shades.....I think.....at least on my tips

Made perfect Betty Draper nails today with Chanel Distraction.

Love Chanel colors but the polish just doesn't last on my nails. Yes, I used a base coat ( a good one I usually use with great results) and a top coat but one day, 1 day later the polish is chipping and on two nails it has peeled off completely.

The color in question is the very beautiful Miami Peach #203.

I'll remove the remainder today & apply something I know will last at least a few days.

I'm having a bit of a nail polish nightmare these days. No matter what I apply, it looks bad. I wanted to try Chanel Pearl Drops, but the color was so ugly (read: nicotine stained nails) that I removed it after the first coat. Then I applied a single coat of Essie Waltz which looked alright until I saw it in direct sunlight - then it looked like chewing gum. I decided that I needed some color and painted my rather long nails with Chanel Holiday. Well, the color is too much for long nails, and on top of it it was rather difficult to work with. After two coats I still had bald spots. I removed that too. Now I'm trying YSL Golden Touch which in the bottle is a peach with gold, but on the nail looks more or less like Pearl Drop. I'll have to live with it a couple of days though because I do not have time to change. :-(

Have any of you tried the magnetic polishes?

I'm wearing the Sally Hansen brand in Purple Potion. It's easy to do and has a cool 3D effect.

Please excuse the messy cuticles! They look HUGE in this picture.
Shades, I have not tried these yet but I look at them all the time. Debating...should I, shouldn't I.
How does the polish wear?

I have on OPI's Pedal Faster Suzi from the Holland collection. It's a sheer pink with silvery shimmer, pretty.

Butter London Knackered "A sheer, twinkling oyster shade flecked with micro glitter particles." This is also a fabulous "underwater shade" (some nail polishes look even more amazing when you're swimming, taking a bath or merely washing your hands...)

<snip>

It wears just ok ... but keep in mind I'm really hard on polish with all the hand washing I do at work. Nothing wears really well on me. I don't know how it will work to touch up either.
