Is there any other fragrance that you can mention with it in the same breath. I rank it so high in my book and I running short of it... I think what I have will suffice for two whole-day wearings. To me, it so progressive a scent, so timeless and un-categorizeable (is there a word as such ? ).

I've never found anything even remotely like it. Better go ahead and buy another bottle now. Good choice!

it is very unique the fruity vanilla smell is like no other, habit rouge has a similar vibe, but not the same.

Last night, just for kicks and giggles, I sprayed my bath towel with two shots of Acier Aluminum. Today, when I came home from lunch, the entire house smelled of A.A. even though the towel was in the basement. We've not had A.A. in our home for long so it was a happy surprise.

It's excellent isn't it.

In answer to your question my friend: Jean Patou Lacoste Eau de Toilette, which was released in 1968. The Basenotes Fragrance Directory incorrectly lists it as a Lacoste fragrance. It is not a Lacoste fragrance; it is a Jean Patou fragrance. Lacoste commissioned Jean Patou to create the fragrance. It was created by the great Jean Kerléo, who was at the time the newly installed Jean Patou in-house perfumer. I have not been able to find information on the notes, but I can say that it reminds me of a much smoother, much more sophisticated precursor to Creed's Acier Aluminium. It's superb and, for what's it's worth, IMO, it's up there with Kerléo's Patou Pour Homme and Patou Pour Homme Prive.

Is this it in the spray 1.7oz bottle? If so, still available on eBay as of this date/time. Or is it the 2002 version?
