Help with winter fragrance

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

So I am kind of new to picking good colognes (normally I just pick a random one that I find "smells good" and it later turns out to be crap. For example: Black XS, Only the brave, Ferrari Black etc etc).

Can anyone recommend a sort of youthful, strong and long-lasting cologne for fall/winter? Price is not a concern as I usually only use colognes for going out (which happens 1-2 times a week)

Thanks so much for your help.

Some you can try that imo work well for going out in winter: JPG Le Male, Rochas Man, YSL Body Kouros, Thierry Mugler A*Men, Givenchy Play Intense, Armani Code

^^ Those ones...plus Amen Pure Malt by Thierry Mugler

La Nuit l`homme. YSL.

+1 on A*Men Pure Malt, you can't go wrong with that one. Some others I would add are:

Gucci Envy
YSL La Nuit De L'Homme
Must de Cartier PH
Marc Jacobs Bang
Bulgari Man
Chanel Allure

All of these are long-lasting (on me anyway) frags well-suited for the winter months and work well on a young guy. They're all fairly easy to find and won't break the bank.

JPG Le Male, A*Men and Armani Code also fit the bill, but they're very popular which may or may not be what you're looking for.

Burberry London

Second the Burberry London although I can't form an opinion on longevity since nearly anything doesn't last on me.

Consider Fitch's Fierce as well.

Thanks so much for the help guys. I tried out Burberry London and Gucci Envy the other day and both are fantastic. I'm not going to make a purchase until I try the others mentioned.

Does anyone like Fuel for Life by Diesel?

Hi,
Gucci Envy has already been suggested by a few members before me, and I would definitely recommend it; dark-hued but clean, and very sexy. Go for it. Even sexier and warmer: Gucci pour Homme, which is a mix of vanilla, incense, and fresh sweat; really hot.
But if you're living in Europe, please do not buy Le Mâle; it shouldn't have been suggested here anyway, since it's a light summer scent. And even worse, everyone over here in Europe is still wearing it; very, very tired. And if you're living in North America, wear Drakkar Noir or Fierce only if you want to smell like everyone else in every shopping mall. (Drakkar Noir in Europe, however, would be OK; very few people even know about it, and it's got kind of simple-sexy muskiness that made it so popular in America.
CU.

Sergery,

winter scents are my favorite. Well, at least something good comes out of winter ( besides hockey and multicolored sweaters).

If you want youthful, there are quite a few :

Jacomo Rouge
YSL Body Kouros
Terre d'Hermes ( yes, I consider this a cold weather scent)
Roberto Cavalli Black
Givenchy Play Intense
Gucci Envy
Fahrenheit Absolute

+1 Gucci Envy
+1 Burberry London
+1 Cartier Declaration
+1 Body Kouros

If you want to try some slightly more mature-smelling scents, go for Tom Ford's Bois Marocain, YSL M7, Creed BdP.

Pure Malt (definitely)
Rochas Man
Gucci Envy
Gucci Pour Homme II
Burberry Brit
Burberry London

These are all good places to start, friend.

Burberry London is a favorite of mine.

I also enjoy Opium and Rochas Man.

Gucci pour Homme is also an excellent suggestion.

I recommend trying these out before buying, some of them may be too sweet or spicy to your tastes.

+1 Givenchy Play Intense
Hugo Boss Bottled is my fall/winter go to (warm, spicy, sweet, woody)

While Burberry London is a fantastic fragrance and perfect for the winter, its longevity is not great. Which is fine if you have a collection of perfumes and use London every so often but if you want a signature fragrance for the winter I'm not sure if London is the best suited. I sometimes only get around 3 - 5 hours from London.

I would like to make an appeal to Serjery.

Some of these wonderful scents are highly potent. You can easily get a reputation as "The Cologne Guy" with some of there.

The "Premier League" of this would be A*Men, Joop Homme, and Le Male.

Division 2 would be the A*Men flankers like Pure Malt, Pure Havane, Rochas Man, 1 Million and the scents "inspired" by 1 Million like 212 VIP, Black Soul and Spice Bomb.

They are all good, just go easy with them... less is more.

On another note, this year has been, in my opinion, quite poor of new fragrances. But I do like Armani Code Ultimate, when I hated the original. And one from last year that has not been mentioned is CK One Shock.
