Anyone found a source for synthetic civetone?

Hi there-- I'm looking for fixatives/amplifiers and have heard that civet is one of the best, but have ethical concerns about using it. I know synthetic civetone exists and I'd like to find it in a small buyable quantity (If someone is selling the natural stuff with documentation of civet cats in humane living conditions, I'd go for that too.) Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

Perfumers Apprentice sells a Firmenich civet reconstitution (all synthetic), which is probably what you're looking for. It's listed under "bases and blends".

Unfortunately, the compounds in it aren't listed, and I'm not willing to use synthetic blends that don't have listed ingredients. But thank you just the same.

Umm, you want a fragrance company to tell you a formula for a proprietary blend? That's asking for quite a lot don't you think? You might as well avoid using synthetics altogether.

If you are concerned then use the other natural fixatives like benzoin. Here is a data info sheet on other sorts. I have no idea what half of them are.
