Midnight In Paris is the first one that comes to my mind as my favorite 2010 launch too

There is still so very much I haven't gotten around to trying - the new Lutens, the new Tauers, and dozens of niche releases that have piqued my curiosity.

My favorite recent release is Kilian's Love & Tears a very pleasing, pleasant, transparent jasmine. I love it, but I'm not in love with it, you know? It's an A fragrance but not A+.

Amouage's Opus II was very intriguing. Not really my type of thing but absolutely a top-quality fragrance that comes with my highest recommendations.

Good but not wowing me are Musc and Ambre from the Mona di Orio Les Nombres d'Or series, and L'Artisan's Nuit de Tubereuse seems like an interesting miscalculation, fascinating but unwearable.

Going back to late 2009 brings up a few more things, namely Kilian's Pure Oud and Back To Black, both fantastic fragrances to my nose.

I need to catch up on my fragrance sampling, that's for sure!

That being said, I've discovered so many great fragrances in the past year ( released in earlier years ) that I can hardly complain; it's been a great year for me and fragrance.

Off the top of my head, just one - Creed Aventus. Mind you, I like the smell, but others LOVE the smell on me. I actually prefer many Creeds over this, and also several other scents.

Aventus, for the exact same reasons as above. This is my first fragrance out of the 50 or so I've owned where others publicly express their enthusiasm for it in a way that easily exceeds my own enjoyment.

My favourite new fragrances are:

Hesperides by Essenze di Mezzanotte and the entire line from Antimateria. I also love Nio by Xerjoff, but I'm not certain when that was first released. I'll settle for a good Italian perfume anyday

Amouage has a few winners in their recent releases. I think Opus II and Memoir Man are both absolutely magnificent! I also quite like Opus III (such a turnaround..I initially hated this!). It's the ultimate "I'm going to stay in, wrap myself in a blanket and read all day" kind of comfort scent. Opus I, while nice, didn't really do much for me though.

I really like D&G's The One Gentleman. Need to test this some more.

I also think Al Oudh is excellent and very underrated. It's a great oud smoke scent!

On the women's side, I really liked Ange ou Demon le Secret. Yum!
