Interesting experience with Creed direct purchase

Hello all. I have been delving into the world of fragrances as of late, and after ordering the Creed sample pack from Creed's online store I decided to make a purchase.

I bought the 2.5 oz bottle of Bois du Portugal and it arrived in the mail today. To my surprise I received the 8.4 oz flacon instead of the 2.5 oz atomizer I had ordered. After checking my account I see I was only charged for the smaller size.

Obviously I was rather stunned by this revelation, and I was a bit curious if anyone else has had a similar pleasant experience.

No but I would keep an eye on your account. I had an experience with BeautyEncounter where they sent me an the same frag twice and threatened to charge me for the second one if I didn't return it (postage on them).

It's a new promotion, order a small, get a large for a penny more

Was that a collective 'lucky bastard' I just heard muttered?

Consider yourself lucky pal. I don't think this is part of any promotion.

Haha, oh how I wish. Ironically, I had considered the flacon because the cost difference was very much in its favor ($3/mL for the 75mL and $1.4/mL for the 250mL).

I am possibly thinking that a packer saw 2.5oz on my shipping manifest and the 250mL on the flacon and simply grabbed it.

But I agree with ziffy321 that I should keep a watch on my account >.>

Or you could alert them of the mixup and see how they'd like to handle it.

Also, the flacon label is a bit more generic than I would have expected. Gold label with the "credentials" of Creed on the bottle, and BDP on a sticker on the bottom. But, the bottle was sealed in the same manner as I have seen elsewhere.

The problem with talking to Creed about the mixup is I am honestly unsure there is much that could be done seeing as how I have opened and used the bottle.

In that case, you should be charged for the flacon, IMO. Of course seeing as these are your first three posts on BN, you're probably a troll.

This one time I had purchased a one ounce of SMW and they had accidentally gave me 3 flacons of "Vintage" TabarĂ³me

Mm, I might still contact Creed. Even if I do end up having to pay for the flacon, it might be the "right" thing to do in the end. And who knows, they might just appreciate the honesty after all.

But, sorry to disappoint, as a troll I am not. I have been using BN's fragrance reviews a good bit in the past couple months in making my fragrance decision, but I did not have terribly much impetus to create an account until now.

What do you mean *might* be the right thing to do? This is actually a question for you?

What you SHOULD do, is get some smaller bottles and/or sample vials etc and sell smaller sizes on ebay for $50 a pop until you've recouped your money, and still probably end up with way more than the 2.5 oz, at a net cost to you of basically nothing.

In fact sign me up, I'll be your first customer.

Eh, I appreciate the suggestion, but that is not something that I would be willing to do, sorry. Also, if I enjoy the scent, selling it would be pretty illogical as I could not purchase more at the same price that I was selling it.

And yes, it is a debate for me on if I want to simply keep it or not. If the product was one that was still sealed I think the decision would have been easier. Perhaps in retrospect I should not have opened the bottle in my excitement and should have waited and contacted Creed.

But, to me keeping it is in a gray area, however selling it would be absolutely not something I would be comfortable with.

If it bothers your conscious that much, send it back!
