Wat do you think my final top 5 should be?

Ok. So as much as i do like bleu de chanel, i went along and traded a full bottle of bleu de chanel for full new bottle from nordstroms of chanel allure homme sport and la nuit de l'homme..(both big bottles)

some of u might have noticed that my top five in my sig changes constantly.

i have officially decided to settle down until the end of the 2010 year. This is what my final top 5 fragrances is:

5. Burberry Brit
4. Chanel Allure Homme Sport
3. Le Male
2. A*Men Pure Malt
1. La Nuit de L'homme

Yes thats right. my newly received La Nuit de L'homme has dethroned Pure Malt for number one spot on my top 5. Why? Simply because I cannot wear Pure Malt unless its very very cold outside. Le Male is a very very close choice at number three, but i choose Pure Malt ahead of it because when i think of which fragrance i'd choose to REALLY leave an impression on someone, id choose Pure Malt.

L'Homme was knocked off my list because although its in my opinion one of my top 5 fragrances, having la nuit AND l'homme on my list would be redundant to me.

And im defiently loving Chanel Allure Homme Sport. Though i did like Bleu de Chanel, it simply didnt stay on my skin. i wish it did, but it didnt. I still think its a very good smelling frag.

Anyways,

anyways, how would u rank my top 5 frags? choosing between La Nuit, Pure Malt, Le Male, AHS, Brit rank those from 1-5, 1 being the best

Bleu has longevity problems, no doubt. What gets me is that when people have this problem but really like something, why don't they just get an atomizer and it isn't a problem anymore. Just spray again when needed. It seems like an obvious answer but not many seem to think of it as an option. Before I really got into colognes I didn't even know about atomizers and just took anything that didn't last immediately back to the store. As you can imagine a lot of things went back!

I can't knock your selection of La Nuit though. It really is outstanding and makes L'Homme look sickly. While L'Homme vanishes into thin air, L'Homme goes on thick and stays on all day/evening. That's your number 1, but I can't rate the others due to lack of familiarity.

They're all good. I wouldn't rank them; just wear whichever one you fancy on any given day.

Anyway, your collection is sure to expand, but I would keep to the same strategy even when it does.

5. Burberry Brit(nothing special, Armani Code does what this does better imo)
4. Chanel Allure Homme Sport(not very impressed, seems generic and boring)
3. Le Male (this does smell good although, it is overworn it smells great with a classic feel to it)
2. A*Men Pure Malt(one of my favorite gourmands though not to versatile)
1. La Nuit de L'homme(versatile, sexy, and something I thoroughl enjoy)

I'd categorize them exactly as you did.

couldnt agree more.

if i had to throw away all my bottles and keep one, itd be la nuit de l'homme because of versatility, over smell, and on me, its projection and longevity is just as good, if not better then le male. i've been complimented on this fragrance after 9 hours application from quite a far distance
I'd categorize them exactly as you did

Didn't you just get done saying that you liked L'Homme more than La Nuit? I don't think anyone can help you order your top 5 when your preferences are changing every other day.

so when it came down to it, i chose L'homme to replace La Nuit, and Le Male to replace Pi

Yeah, not trying to be rude Jonny, you keep changing your mind. I know this happens to most of us when we're just introduced to the hobby. Don't try hard to chase an "ultimate top fragrances list", you'll find your true favorites in time, just enjoy the ride and don't over think it

In these parts, "flavor of the week" is pretty common. Don't get caught up on lists, man.

Yup. It's not like playing your top 40 music or top 10 dvds. I don't believe in ranking the fragrances in my wardrobe either; I select my fragrances based on the social context of activities, the weather & sometimes my mood. It's like playing Championship Manager - you substitute a player for another that the current situation calls for.

Anyway jonny19, if you love both l'Homme & La Nuit then so be it. No reason why they both can't be on your list. So enjoy!
