Amouage Memoir Man

I can't stop wearing this. It is beyond excellent. Who would have ever expected something downright gothic from Amouage? I didn't think it was possible but I am starting to think this could dethrone Reflection Man and become my #1.(edit: ok, actually, I think it may be the dark/sinister yang to Reflection's bright/ethereal yin) OMG! My perfume world has been turned upside down on me!

Now I just need to figure out how I'm going to get the money to get a bottle!

Yves Saint-Laurent Jazz (1988) Jean-François Latty Aromatic Woody Fougère
------------------
Top Notes: Artemisia, Coriander, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Anise, Basil, Bergamot, Lavender Middle Notes: Geranium, Jasmine, Iris, Carnation Base Notes: Sandalwood, Tobacco, Amber, Cedar, Leather, Musk, Tonka Bean
------------------
A spicy fougère with good projection and sillage. This is my favorite of the YSL men's fragrance line. The floral heart is the pivot or fulcrum between the spicy, citrus, and herbal top and the woody, tobacco and coumarin base. A satisfying accord, and for me, a fitting way to remember the great designer who lent his name and brand to it.

Serge Lutens - Vetiver Oriental

Notes:
Dark Chocolate, Guaiac Wood, Vetiver, Sandalwood, Amber,Musk,Oakmoss

To me this one opens with a dry aroma that is like they have reproduced the aroma of a leather jacket without using any leather at all. Then i start to get a dry chocolate note mixed with the smoky and green vetiver aroma. The kind of comfort that i enjoy in dark fragrances.

Traveling for business all week long. I grabbed a bag full of samples on the way out the door. Today's sample is Bond No. 9 Wall Street. Hmmmm. . . like the real Wall Street, a not very impressive performance. . .

I'm wearing Creed Bois du Portugal from a new sample...I'm a little surprised to say that it's not really ringing my bells. I wore PDN New York yesterday and I liked it much better. Guerlain Heritage is in my mind as well. I'll get a full bottle of one of these, and I figured BDP would win hands down, but so far, no.
