top 5 sexiest FRESH fragrances

Thread Starter
The thread the 007 created about top 5 sexiest fragrance got me thinking:

What do u think the top 5 sexiest FRESH fragrances are?? like summer, citrus, aquatic, fresh, fragrance. fragrances that fall under that category.

I know its not east for a fresh fragrance to be "sexy", but if u had to name the top 5 what would it be?

From my experience, Acqua Di Gio is what women think it the sexiest fresh scent.

I just smelled an overdose of AdG on a 60+ year old man yesterday. Definitely NOT sexy.

Hmm..

Wicken 3000 - this is sexy because it is so pure and innocent.
Givenchy Play
Prada Amber PH
Romance Silver
Amouage Reflection Man (this is on the border between fresh and floriental)

Issey Miyake L'eau D'Issey Summer EDT 2009

Wow great list 007. I did wear samples of Creed GIT & MI this past summer/fall & as much as I love GIT...I preferred MI. I thought it was outstanding.

I still want to try Virgin Island Water.

Thanks DC, I love the fresh scents by creed, not all but many of them. They are not as synthetic as the others on the market., i have a bottle of millesime imperial and it is great, i want to buy aventus, silver mountain water, original vetiver and green irish tweed later on. Virgin island is great, very topical and citrusy you will love it, it does not last a long long time but i love it. Supposedly the fresh creeds are better in winter because there is not a lot of heat that oxidizes the cologne.

Lacoste Essential
Black XS
Paris Hilton For Men

These ones really get attention though my list would look like...

Menthe Fraiche
Virgin Island Water
Unforgivable Multi Platinum
Infusion D'Homme
Live Jazz

I like your list. Sadly, Nio is the one Xerjoff I haven't tried. I'm also dying to try L'eau de Jatamansi, firstly because it's all-natural and secondly because it's by one of my new favorite noses, Karine Vinchon. It's interesting that you put it in this 'sexy' listing - I hadn't heard it described as such before.

Gendarme EDP
Green Irish Tweed
Prada Amber
Bvlgari Pour Homme
Nautica Voyage

Fresh ≠ sexy. Mugler Cologne is nice and could be sexy on an attractive person, though, as would Eau Sauvage, Guerlain Vetiver, Original Vetiver and any number of classic colognes.

I really love L'Eau de Jatamansi. It's very light, though, so be forwarned. Although light, it lasts all day on me. It works really well in the summer. It was all I could do not to wear it every day these past few months. I was really excited at the news that Karine Vinchon had three fragrances out this year.

I wouldn't list it myself as "sexy," but maybe my idea of sexy isn't "fresh."

That said, 5 sexy fresh fragrances might be:

Eau d'Orange Verte
Ninfeo Mio
Gris Clair...?
Eau Sauvage
Dominica Bay Rum

I don't mean to be an ass, but really; fragrances are not sexy. And I'm not saying this in a discussion ending "to each his own" -way. That's not my point, it never is. What I mean is, that I can't imagine a situation, where a fragrance itself would be sexy. In a vacuum, without a context. It's kind of like saying that a piece of clothing is sexy in itself. Knowing yourself, understanding the situation, knowing how much to wear and to wear with confidence, that's sexy. It's really surprising how different fragrances I've found to be sexy. In some situations even a serious and reserved fragrance can be sexy, sometimes a sporty fragrance I usually wouldn't be that fond of.

Looks like the discussion ended right after you posted.. Don't worry I'm not saying this in a "it's all your fault" way, I'm just saying you're not required to participate if you don't like the thread.

Glad someone like Kenzo Pour Homme as sexy fragrance as well. Kenzo Homme EDT Boisee is also very good in my opinion.

This 2 for women that prefer men to smell masculine but still fresh (no sweet shit):

Bvlgari Aqva
Chanel Platinum Egoiste

For someone who doesn't like fresh scents it is!

I personally like Acqua di Gio if it's applied lightly.
Others that I tend to enjoy are Chanel Allure Homme Sport, YSL L'homme (don't know if this is fresh) and Eau d'Orange Verte

1. Parfumerie Generale (11). Harmatan Noir
2. Creed Green Irish Tweed

Heh. I know what you mean. I guess 'sexy' means different things to different people. For me, whenever a fragrance charms a nose well enough for it to lean in closer to the wearer's skin as though it can't get enough of the scent, THAT'S 'sexy'.

'Longevity' shouldn't matter either; after all it's not the length that matters.

Kouros Cologne Sport ...but even THAT is pushing it.

No one has mentioned Creed Green Valley, so let me do so...it is the very epitome of springtime.
Speaking only for myself, I do not equate "fresh" with "sexy."

I see sexy as spicy, with lavender and heavy florals (esp. jasmine), or something animalic, like civet, musk or cumin.

Acqua di Gio is appealing to women only because it's the only scent they know of and it's popular.

I concur with jcpetrucci that fresh and sexy are oxymorons.

ive smelled alot more fragrances since ive posted this, and i thnk the answer, without a doubt, has to be Hanae Mori
post #36 of 44
For fresh scents these are really good and I could not limit it to 5:

Escentric 02
Xerjoff Nio
L' Essence de Declaration
Angelique Sous La Pluie
Cologne du Parfumeur, Guerlain
Eau de Guerlain
Editions Frederic Malle Outrageous
Andree Putman Preparation Parfumee
CDG Hinoki

I completely disagree.

Fierce / Platinum Egoiste / Curve. ( these all share something that is instantly recognized as sexy by females aged 18-34)

Millesime Imperial / Unforgivable MP / Wall St.

Silver Mountain Water (I'm not a big fan, but this gets GREAT Reactions from a large number of women)

Acqua Di Gio. (not a fan of the persimmon, but give credit where it is due)

M7 Fresh. (I keep this one around due to it getting slot of female attention, another that women like ALOT more than I do)
but are colognes sexy?

this reminds me of people saying some clothes are sexy...until they fit the wrong person
post #40 of 44
Mugler Cologne
CK One
Rochas Aquaman
Baldessarini del Mar
Boss Elements Aqua

I do too. A woman's thought process isn't "I smell that all the time and I know nothing of colognes so that has to be sexy." The thought process is "that smells really good on him and therefore is sexy." It's that simple. My wife knows nothing of what is popular and she doesn't go out too much. But if something smells good on me, she lets me know....and it can be fresh or boozy/spicy. If she is catching whiffs and I look good....sexy. It isn't that complicated.

This fragrance hasn't been mentioned: Fresh and SEXY!

Trophee by Lancome

A citrus opening is followed by lavender and jasmine, settled in a base of herbs and woods. Notes: lemon, basil, lime, pettitgrain, bay, patchouli, cedar, jasmine, lavender, musk, amber, moss, labdanum and tonka bean."

I agree with the disagreement, AdG is not a bad fragrance. Back when it was not a well known fragrance here I used to wear it to the clubs and pubs all the times. Girls and women would say I smell good (in their own words). None of them knew that I wear AdG, and I never told anyone that asks anyway.

It seems like some regard their climate and taste to be the only definition of sexy.
What they think of as sexy I smell as cloying, dated, old, and well regarded mostly by mature ladies.
That said, I find both Roadster and Blanche to be nice compromises, even the mature crowd smell some depth in them. Unless you are trying to impress a perfumista, in which case you are better off concentrating on other venues.
