Breaking news on Sherlock sequel

Thread Starter
Actor Stephen Fry has revealed in a recent BBC interview that he will play Mycroft in the planned sequel to the Robert Downie Sherlock Holmes movie. The character is Holmes’ older brother who possesses greater detective skills, though he is unwilling to put them to use due to lack of ambition. Also, Jared Harris will play Moriarty in the sequel. The character was alluded to in the first movie but never shown.

I think Fry is a perfect casting choice for Mycroft.

I don't know either actor, but I'm stoked for the new movie!

I really like Stephen Fry, his and Hugh Laurie's pairings are very clever and sharp (mainly A bit of Fry and Laurie and Jeeves and Wooster)

OUTSTANDING! Stephen Fry is perfect for Mycroft! If you haven't checked it out already, try to watch his series Kingdom. Fortunately, one of our PBS stations has been running it. Thanks for the news, Ody!

That's great news! Stephen Fry is wonderful. And I'm also happy to see that the new TV series Sherlock, discussed in the other thread, is coming to PBS later this month. I love watching Mystery on Sunday nights.
