Wall Streets Gordon Gekko. What is the ultimate, perfect scent for this cynical businessman?

-I vote for Boucheron Pour homme EDP!

Thats a good one you have listed there

I would add Chanel Antaeus as Gekko symbolizes Wall Street in the eighties
post #3 of 53
Even though belonging to the previous decade, Azzaro PH, in my opinion, brilliantly anticipates the style and mood of the film "Wall Street"

Boss No. 1, Fracesco Smalto PH, Versace L'Homme

Jean Desprez Versailles Pour Homme.

It reeks of ominpotence
Brooks Brothers for Men.

Gordon Gekko: Chanel Antaeus
Bud Fox: Shiseido Basala or YSL Kouros
I think Mr. Gekko would do well with Zino Davidoff.

Isn`t Antaeus a bit heavy for daytime use?

I will just point out some information: I did not only think of Wall Street 1. I will also add Wall Street II. You can pick which you want!
Prince GianCarlo would suit him.

I think once the initial blast of top notes subside & granted applied with a light trigger, you are left with a scent that exudes power & confidence. Anteaus can be worn anytime of day.

Van Cleef Pour Homme
Bois de Portugal
I think Boucheron PH is ON THE MONEY! In fact, my dad has this friend (a retired university dean) who looks just like Michael Douglas and happens to be a Boucheron PH man... a fact that has always made me very fond of him.\\
Gecko might wear Amouage Silver Cologne well, too. If he got it as a gift or something.

Italian Cypress

This is one scent that makes me think twice about crossing some guy in a suit.

You think he cannot afford the Silver?
i agree with azarro and van cleef and arpels pout homme.
Armani Eau
Van Cleef & Arpels or Drakkar Noir
Wall Street ---------> Versace L'Homme

Wall Street 2 -------> Something niche...
Kouros.
Maybe Drakkar Noir.
Wall Street II - the smell of prison soap. After that many years it'll take a while for it to fully wash off!
If we assume that Mr.Gekko is an high-class fraud his signature scent could be Bandit
by Robert Piguet.
Well Gordon Gecko was an 80s Wall Street businessman , so Xeryus or Drakkar Noir
post #27 of 53
Present day Gekko- Xerjoff Dhofar.

Beacause it's super pricey and he can easily afford it.

I agree! I actually had this in mind!

Oh, no. I just don't imagine he'd 'waste' his time investigating something like scent.
I guess I could go with the obvious, Bond no. 9 "Wall Street," but I assume we're not going that route in this thread. Antaeus sounds about right. If not, I might go with Platinum Egoiste.
Vintage Tabarome.

OT: It's been a while since we last saw Michael Douglas in a movie. He still got it! That 'sleazy roguish air' that made him famous in movies like Fatal Attraction, Basic Instinct, Wall Street etc.
The new Brioni. It's smart, sophisticated, subtle, mature, rich and terribly expensive.
Definitely not Drakkar or Van Cleef. Way too gauche.

Perhaps Dior Jules or Lauder For Men?
Boucheron PH edp!
What about the Maserati perfume for men? It's a GLORIOUS perfume actually!!!

Other ones that I find very suitable:

- The whole Zegna range
- The whole Creed range
- The whole Maitre Parfumeur range

From Cartier I would say Santos.
From Gucci I would say Envy.

From Cleef & Arpels I would say Tsar.

From Chanel I would say Egoiste.

But maybe he would go for a masterpiece that has been around for ages and freshens up for all day for just a buck or so? 4711

Amouage Silver or Gold.
Creeds Bois Du Portugal.

Bijan for men. I believe to have read that it used to be expensive back in the 80's.
Gordon Gekko is rich. On the Forbes' list of richest fictional characters, he's #4 with a net worth of $8.5 billion (yeah they actually made a list, which is fun). This guy wouldn't wear Antaeus or Boucheron, c'mon...Xerjoff, Clive Christian, at least Amouage.
Eau Sauvage by CD, or Aqua di Parma, or Douro by Penhaligons...
What about Ralph Lauren Safari for Men?

antaeus

Bdp, memoir man, jubilation xxv, etc
He wouldn't settle for anything else than Xerjoff Kobe.
Antaeus IS mentioned in the book, "American Psycho".
I think either Chanel Antaeus or Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui.

Love the Gekko character btw
I agree with VC&A Pour Homme
I do think Oscar pour Lui & Antaeus have that massive 'I'm here and I'm bigger then you' feeling which suits Gekko.
