Sophi - happy birthday to your little girl!

Roberto, you smell so divine (as does everyone, as usual) that I'm glad I picked a fragrance with your name in it for today!

Roberto Cavalli Oro

top notes: magnolia, coriander, iris, pepper, apple, bergamot
middle notes: apricot, patchouli, cinnamon, freesia, cedar
base notes: sandalwood, amber, musk, vanilla, gaiac wood

Take care, everyone!

Wow. Evening has fallen already.

My SoTE:

Today, orange and neroli beckon strongly!

Last night I was testing something not mentioned often on the boards -- from very lovely Ms.E -- Tonino Lamborghini Kif. Apart from the fact that it has been long discontinued, virtually unknown for my regular Directories and, consequently, impossible to find for a decent price -- it is great! A nice oriental with chypresque tendencies ending with dry sandalwood, lively patchouli and delicios sweet amber. Not for the timid of heart. (In a Blind Sniff I would have probably said Parfumerie Generale, and the second thought was about similarities with Bois des Iles and then Ambre Sultan, how about that?). As translated from Arabic, the name means "haschisch" or "marijuana", and the fragrance is addictive. It is no brainer what my SotD is going to be today and many more days. Thank you, E.!

Glorious flowerific Sabi, a carryover from last night's application.
Enjoy that baby girl, Sophi. I still enjoy mine, and I've had her for 31 years.

Hello all. Wearing a sample of Nuit de Cellophane and have to say not feeling the love.
My sample finishing mission continues. I want to clear some things out and stop hoarding, not just fragrances. This morning I'm wearing Montale's Vanille Absolu. I've been in the mood for vanilla & spices. This one smells like praline with a slug of booze.

Happy Bithday to Sophi's baby girl!

Happy Birthday to Mr. Kiliwia!

Wow Wolfie - great review! I'm so glad you like this lush but very obscure perfume! (Btw, my brother bought this for me when he was 16 and into fast cars, and I was 14 and into perfume. I still have that red leather-bound flacon, plus an enormous refillable canister that I just hope I never need to refill!) Actually, I feel a bit of serendipity going on, for it's highly unusual for me to check in sans fragrance, but I did this morning and I decided to be scent-twins with you today, just because I can! So I'm also in the very addictive Kif by Lamborghini -perfect for this clear, crisp morning.

Y'all have a fantastic day!

For the evening: Jubilation XXV

It's supposed to reach 80 here today, so I am exercising my perogative to change my mind and save Fumerie Turque for a cooler day.

In light of yesterday's mini-leather kick, I'm wearing PdE's Cuir Ottoman, which, on the "lumberjack butch" scale (thanks to actiasluna for such a great turn of phrase -- which I am now shamelessly stealing, again ), is significantly less than Cuir Mauresque and much more leather-y than the elegant suede of Daim Blond. I'm loving it.

Have a very lovely birthday - Sophi's Little Girl !

Scent of the morning is Mitsouko extrait.
Guerlain's Tonka Impériale, "between gingerbread and chocolate," food-loving Sylvaine Delacourte puts it, as pleasing as Cologne du 68 but executed at a level of quality and restrain that brings forth sensory effects of exquisite Parisian leather goods and fine cigars. A pine note adds to the gingerbread aroma and its accompanying atmosphere of fireplaces and furred walks in snowy winter woods. Like the previous L'Art et la Matière fragrances, Tonka Impériale doesn't have much of a development once applied, although the opening bergamot-rosemary-almond-jasmine accord has its own brandied vibe, a soberer variant of Jean-Paul Guerlain's boozy Spiritueuse Double Vanille.

Beautiful day here! Going to go buy some new tires for my car in Chanel 19, but only because I don't have any Bulgari Black!

Just saw and "liked" a page on Facebook called "Favorite Smell Triggered Memories" Check it out if you're a Facebooker!

Eau Duelle by Diptyque (first time from a sample)

The similarities to Sublime Vanille by Creed (and for that matter Shalimar Eau Legere by Guerlain) are striking. Wonderful salty vanilla.

CHERGUI for me....I'm freezin', need some of that deserty influence

Rubj EDP this morning. Definitely not a light version of the extrait. Along with the fruity-floral of the passion fruit, a quite animalic note of cumin and musk coming through.

Lucky Scent:
Rubj - Eau de Parfum Notes
Bergamot, mandarin, neroli, passion fruit, cumin, orange flower absolute, tuberose, basil, cedar, oak moss, musk

E., great ad too! As a (former) linguist, I interpret Feel Kif as not only "Smell this scent", but also as "Feel the Same" (kif kif Fr. same). Thanks for having introduced it to me.

Hi, everyone,

Roberto, we share house today. I'm in Le Parfum de Thérèse.

You're very welcome Twolf, but the pleasure is all mine! Since you've sampled almost everything under the sun, you must know that it's extremely gratifying for me to be able to introduce you to a fragrance that you actually like. I'm just thrilled, and enormously pleased with that ol' Kif for being on its best behaviour (and I thought it meant "pleasure" for some reason, but that could be a slangy marijuana connection, of course.)

Anyway, I'll be in Coco for the rest of the day. Y'all have a wonderful evening!

Tried posting this am to no avail; aaah! I'm wearing vintage Dioressence and loving it so. Haaaappy Birthdaaaay to Sophi's little daughter.

Amouage Ubar this evening .
I've been so very busy today that I beat the sunrise before work and came home after sunset. So for today, I wore heavy hitter combo Black Aoud with Bulgari Black, touched it up in the early afternoon on the drydown with Citizen Queen, and this evening I added a little Amazone to the mix. It helped energize me!
Happy Birthday to Sophi's daughter and Kiliwia's hubby!

My SotD is Martine Micallef's Gaiac. It's a very fine sweet woody fragrance. Listed notes include bergamot, jasmine, cloves, gaiac, vetiver, vanilla. I love this on myself and I'd adore it on a man.
Added a spritz of Jubilation 25 to Ubar - very nice !
