For colognes that have limited sillage and longevity....

Hey Folks,

If a cologne has limited sillage and longevity to begin with, are more sprays going to make it last much longer? For example if Gucci Pour Homme 2 lasts an average of 5 hours on your skin, will it make a difference if you use 3 sprays or 15 sprays to get more hours and sillage out of it?

Far better would be getting a small sprayer from sephora or elsewhere, fill it with your cologne, and recharge yourself after 5 hours.

Spraying too much might or might not increase the sillage and longevity, especially if you spray in the same spot. Problem becomes it might have obnoxious sillage for the first few hours, which is not good.

And perhaps you're getting olfactory fatigue?

I think it's ComDiva? who posted a whole thread about skincare, basically part of which should help lengthen your longevity. Try spraying different body areas, look for oily ones. Try rubbing on some moisturizer before spritzing. Try spraying on your clothes.

I agree with adonis - I have much better results reapplying then loading up at the begining and hanging on for dear life.

I have this problem not only for some perfumes, but for quite a lot. It mostly has to do with my skin's ph. Use an unscented lotion before spraying perfume. This has worked for me.
