Pure Malt vs 1 Million.

If someone has Pure Malt, is it worth it to have 1 million? are they meant for similar occasions and purposes? I have never smelled 1 million, but in your guys' opinion which smells better: pure malt or 1 million?

Pure malt is heavier, smokey, caramel type vibe

one million lighter, fruits (berries), sugary

for date time use or as casual, you can use one million (just 1 spray or 2, its strong). its not very offensive although it can get cloying if over applied (can become very sweet). pure malt is good for crisp cold weather, also good for day time but not as versatile.


two seem different enough to own both. I own malt and plan on buying one million.

Pure Malt, but only by a hair. They're both far too candy-sweet for my taste (no pun intended).

There's a place for both I feel, they definitely bring something different to the table. Archelon hits on it pretty good, though. PM is smokey, heavy and a bit more mature compared to the other while 1Mil is fruity, candy sweet and more youthful almost bordering on too teenybopper.

They are NOTHING alike. Pure Malt isn't really even that sweet to me whereas 1 Million is incredibly sweet

IMO: Pure malt should be for super special dates, special dinners, in bed and MAYBE parties. 1 million should be ONLY for parties and its a pretty damn good party scent at that. Stop fooling yourself, there are better scenes to wear casually, but there are not as many party scents that are better than 1 mil.

If you need a party scent then yes buy it. If you want to use Pure malt as your party scent ( I wouldn't waste of such a good scent ) then no.

Ideal situations to wear the scents in question..

Pure Malt: While sitting at home, getting drunk and listening to George Thorogood's "I Drink Alone"
1 Million: The ideal scent to wear should you ever get hired to jump out of a cake at a birthday party.

I've owned both. Pure Malt is definitely legit. Smokey, boozy, caramel and wood.
Purchased 1 Million as a blind buy a few months back through all the hype of it as the essential "party" scent. Smells great, but it's just too much for my taste. So I compromised, swapped 1 Million for L'Instant and picked up Antonio Banderas The Secret at CVS for $20. It's basically a toned down version of 1 Million, can even be used during the day.
Both smell great, and now that 1 Million is available at Sephora, you should sample it and have a go with it. Though I would stick with 1 Million solely as a club scent, it's too much for much anything else.

Pure Malt by a long shot. I tried them both on each arm yesterday and Pure Malt was still smelling good after 10 hours whereas 1 Million's drydown smelled very synthetic. 1 Million is good but its staying power is nowhere near Pure Malt.

Pure Malt is something a grown man can wear. 1 million is for children. They are nothing alike. It is like comparing Johnnie Walker Blue Label to a wine cooler.

Pure Malt's top notes is better; however, when it's gone after an hour, its middle and base notes are lil bit feminine for me. My gf doesn't like it at all.

1 Million for me, when sprayed moderately, is just perfect, not too sweet, and not cloying. Plus, its sillage is great throughout and longevity is excellent. My gf really likes this. Plus, not a lot of men own it in the U.S. (though, it's been a top seller at Sephora since they started selling it lately ).

And, yes, they are nothing alike. 1 Million is grape Kool Aid and Pure Malt is a caramel macchiato with a big dollop of Glenfiddich in it. So, yeah, Pure Malt ftw, but I like me some grape Kool Aid sometimes, too.
