Encre Noire - On a college student?

Hey Everyone,

Contemplating a purchase of Encre Noire, but wondering about the usual age-range for this fragrance? Can anyone see a college student (like me) wearing something like this? Just asking around for opinion (I know that with fragrances, it should be whatever you like and whatever suits you)

I'm not too familiar with Vetiver either so can someone give me a heads up.

I think you will grow tired of Encre Noire after a few consecutive wears. In my opinion not a daily fragrance. As for age group younger audiences is right on target (college).

If you like it and you want to wear it go ahead.

I'm in college and although Encre Noire can be too harsh and strange for college I wear it.

It is very nice and can be worn by a college student easy, it just has a darker vibe to it, so I wouldn't wear it with shorts and a casual T.

Yes you can. But I think there are other more wearable vetivers out there, IMO.

Vetiver Oriental by Serge Lutens
Vetiver by Guerlain
Original Vetiver by Creed

Absolutely you can wear it.

I agree completely

Encre Noire is really an all-ages sort of event if you ask me.

Really dark frag... but I'd say it's for mostly all ages... really it depends on the attitude of the individual person though.

I heard emo is pretty 'in' with the young folk.....

i do not understand why this great fragrance has not been in top 10 basenote awards for 4 years?

It isnt your average fragrance, but if you like it go ahead. Fragrances are a type of expression to me. Go for what you like.

Well, Vetiver is essentially just a green clean note, so no real age group for it. It's a really dark on so it works great on a young gentleman.

First of all, wear whay YOU enjoy!

Please don't try to categorise yourself as young or old. Perfume does not know a gender, nor an age. For instance, many young women wear Shalimar, an "old" scent. Likewise, young men should feel free to wear whatever they choose.

Besides, do you want to smell like millions of other men your age?

Personally I don't like it, so I might be biased but....that being said:

I don't see it as a scent that would appeal to youger college girls...a little too dark and brooding. In my experience then tend to like sweeter more unisex stuff.

But if you really like it, that's what's most important!
