What Specifically makes you a "cologne guy"

Of course everyone who wears fragrance is a "cologne guy" by nature.

Which fragrance makes you a "cologneguy?'

I love the feeling of being able to pick out a fragrance in the morning and transform your mood into something different and special. Do I wear Midnight Poison or Costume National to be dark and mysterious? Do I wear En Passant to be quiet and solemn? Do I wear Fleur de Liane or Amoreuse to be fresh or sultry? I think you get the picture.

Well, I tend to think most of us are "cologne guy" in that it's enough of an interest that we belong to a forum about them.

If you're referring to the term "cologneguy" in the way it is sometimes bandied about in here, that's usually a reference to a guy who consistently wears a lot or too much of a scent and everyone he interacts with sort of mentally brands him "cologne guy."

I like fragrance. Lots of it. I don't wear a lot at one time - no more than two or three sprays ever - but I do wear it daily, and often several different fragrances in one day. I buy a fair amount of fragrance. And I hang around on basenotes now and then.

Does that make me a cologneguy?

Any I have. I reject contemporary editions in favor of elder fragrances. My selection is hence delicate and may seem unfamiliar to generic public. Givenchy Insense, Sisley Eau De Campagne, some ELDOs and L'Artisans. Recently I found out that my zillage is as hefty as I ever have detected it on other people. Something to be ajusted in the nearer future.

Believe it or not, "fragrance" isn't particularly important to me in any way. It never has been. I collect hobbies, if you will, and this one seemed interesting. I enjoy the process of breaking past the mass market consumer level in an industry and getting to intimately know the "real" world behind it. I like understanding everything from the nuanced differences between the market players, to how the fragrance has been composed and the story it's trying to tell. My plan is/was to immerse myself in this world, learn some things, build a small collection I can enjoy for years to come, meet some interesting people (that's you!) and then move on to something else next year. This will be something I'll always pay some attention to forever, but I don't consider myself a "cologne guy".

Maybe what it makes me a cologne guy it's because everyone knows that i love fragrances, and i always receive compliments about how i smell good. A lot of people ask me for help regarding some specific fragrance, or helping to finding a new fragrance regarding the ones that they have smelled in the past It's what makes me, i believe, to be a cologne guy, a strong passion for fragrances which cannot be hide.

Bingo. If my eyes water and I cough involuntarily when you walk by, you're "that guy." Easily attainable with more than two sprays of Azzaro PH.

It ties in with my creative nature. I'm into pretty much anything that stimulates the senses: music, food, art/design, and of course fragrance. I also really enjoy culture, and I love that a lot of the names are in French and as such, almost give them a certain mystique. In the same way that saying "oh I'm wearing Axe" is rather dull and ordinary, saying "oh I'm wearing L'Instant de Guerlain pour Homme Eau Extrême" is, at least for someone who grew up in the mountains, exotic and unusual. Each fragrance has its own bottle, its own concept, and each provide their own feeling and purpose and are good at enriching occasions and life in general. They can be an accessory to an outfit and an extension of identity.

The fact that I spend far too much, time, money and effort thinking, reading, talking, writing, philosophizing, and researching about fragrances... oh, and shopping for them, too. In fact, "cologne guy" may not actually cover it.

Cologne guy usually means the guy at work or school who wears an obnoxious amount of fragrance.

Just because you are a fragrance hobbyist does not make you a cologne guy.

Im a man, but sometimes I like to smell like a different smelling man, thats why I use old spice. They make a variety of scents *bites off end of golf club* for men.

Yeah lol....i think if you use a brand that makes many different scents, and you really love that brand, plus you use all the scents they make you are a "cologne guy"...im on a horse.

LOL! My family will not let me into a department store unescorted, as someone has to squire me through the fragrance displays, so I won't stop and sniff every fifteen feet.

My biggest decisions of the day are what fragrance out of my collection am I gonna wear to work and...when I get home from work & shower, what Fragrance am I gonna wear for the evening. Lol, tough decisions indeed. It's tough in the streets!
