Difference between prada infusion dhomme and infusion dvetiver

Are they substantial enough to justify a purchase?
I would like to know as well.

I've been wondering about the infusion de vetiver myself the past few days. There's only one review so far in the directory and I'd like to hear more on it.

It's IDH with the teensiest shot of vetiver added to it.

So it's a soapy vetiver frag? Hhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm very interesting!

Finally ran out to try this about an hour ago. Still sniffin', but here is a nice review...

I find them to be very different, while still having a lot in common. Both are very dry, with Vetiver being more dry than Homme. I get more of the warm frankincense/benzoin resin feel in Homme, while Vetiver is more woody, and gets its warmth from the ginger. Both are cool up top, but they use different notes. Love em both.

Agreed. I have d'homme on my left arm and de vetiver on my right. d'homme is truly soapy, starchy and 'white' while de vetiver, although retaining it's 'whiteness' is more 'watery', and green. At first blast I thought de vetiver is nothing more than d'homme with a shot of vetiver. But as it dries down the differences are more dramatic. Infusion de vetiver also has a darker aspect to it that I cannot pinpoint. Less 'white' if you will.

I think it is the ultimate "vetiver for people who don't like vetiver" fragrance.

Uh hum. Hand raised. That would be me.

Well, I thought I liked vetiver, at least I thought I liked the thought of liking vetiver, but I haven't come across alot of vetiver heavy frags I've enjoyed. Maybe I will look into this one then if it's a vetiver frag for people who don't like vetiver. Maybe I am the type of person who does not like the thought of my not liking vetiver.......

Some great vetiver for folks who do not like vetiver are...Creed's Original Vetiver, Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver, Prada above ^, Creed's Vetiver 1948, Fat Electrician, Vetiver Hombre and Vetiver Oriental.

Also, I've mentioned before that I think Infusion De Vetiver is reminiscent in some ways of Creed Vetiver ("1948"). If you like Vetiver '48, then you should try Infusion De Vetiver.

I have to say I have done a 180 on this one. I have had it in for some 5 hours and this has morphed in and out of so many nice stages. Just bought a bottle online. Yippee!

Which is precisely why I LOVE it. As a fan of IDH already, and a fan of vetiver too, the combination of the shot of green from the vetiver doesn't disrupt what I already love about of IDH, it just makes it better. I don't already own IDH, so when I eventually purchase it, I'll get the IdV version. If you already own IDH, I'm not sure adding the IdV version would be worthwhile as they are similar, but that would be completely up to the individual.

I got a chance to sniff it today at Nordstrom's....... meh, not for me. It wasn't bad but it didn't really make me want to wear it let alone buy it.

I prefer infusion d'homme over the vetiver version. I love the long lasting fresh soapy starchiness of idh.

Really kind of strange experience.
I received my Infusion de Vetiver today from fragrancenet.com (came in a day)
I sprayed it on and it was moderately different from the sample I had on my arm two days ago.
Very slight resemblance to Infusion d'homme this time.
Much, much more pepper, vetiver, ginger and tarragon right out of the gate.
Weird?
There isn't an extrait or edp of this, is there?

Late minute edit: I cannot believe how strong the pepper is today. I have never had this happen before that a juice can smell so different than the day before. I am going to spray one arm tomorrow with my bottle and then go to Nordstroms and do a side by side. Hmmph!

I did not care for the vetiver , it smelled like a rubber baloon.

Also, I have the shower gels for both IdH and IdV and you can REALLY tell the differences when you use the shower gels. Both are great btw.

David,
Didn't you get rubber from Vetiver Oriental as well?

Well I went back to Nordtrom's today as this was driving me nuts. Guess what? The Infusion de Vetiver cap was on the Infusion d'homme bottle! No wonder I initially thought the two fragrances were too similar to justify a separate purchase. lol. So with that mystery solved I can state with authority that the two fragrances are indeed fairly distinct. Infusion d'homme being a wonderful soapy, starchy clean white scent while Infusion de Vetiver being a peppery vetiver.
