Does ordering cologne online effect the way it smells overall (cuz of shipping)?

I know this seems odd to ask but let me explain. When you order cologne online it has to ship in the mail. If it goes by airplane, there will probably be a lot of altitude and temperature change, and then it goes in the back of some truck and is probably shaken up and thrown around by the people loading the boxes in and out. Then it gets to your door step (and if you are not home and its a hot day it will be a nice hot bottle when you open it)...so does all of this effect the way it smells? All the heating, then cooling, and being tossed all over the place...or is it safe? I ask this because I ordered a Unilever version of Brut EDT from France...when it came in...it smelled kinda gross, and the bottle was all warm.

The heat can absolutely affect the quality of the scent! I often have clients make inquiry about what carrier we use to ship and whether or not it will be in a hot warehouse, so don't be afraid to do the same!

You ask very good questions. I take into account the location of the shipper and if the weather will be too hot, or if the items will be on a truck over the weekend. This is especially try for luxe fragrances.

So far, I've ordered various colognes online and I didn't actually notice- from a non specialist viewpoint- any decline in quality so far

I have never noticed a loss of quality in new fragrances I ordered online. Vintage fragrances from eBay are another thing; they may very well have been spoiled before they were shipped.

Every bottle travels quite a bit in its life - think of the shipping and warehouses they are forced to endure! Naturally the cooler the better, you might want to cut down ordering in the heat of the summertime.
