NEW FRAGRANCE - MEERCHAUM - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

With an incoming order from Soivohle, I received a tiny sample of a new fragrance called Meerchaum- just a teaser from the studio of perfumer Liz Zorn. Meerchaum is the very best dark green tobacco masculine scent I've smelled in quite a while. It is not to be released until late in October, but sign me up. What does it smell like? I am not the best at identifying notes from samples but I would guess there might be galbanum, vetiver, tobacco, frankincense, amber - but these are wild guess.]
Samples are available, but the website will not update with the description for a week or two.

It is VERY good and worth a try.

Thank you, Buzzlepuff. I really like her tobacco take on Tobacco and Tulle, a tuberose/tobacco scent with a spike of cumin and animalic (and cruelty-free) hyraceum.

Thanks for the heads-up. I tried a couple of Soivohle fragrances and they are awesome. Dark green tobacco sounds really intriguing; will definitely try a sample once it's out!

Liz Zorn is quite a talent, I love all of the Soivohle scents I've tried - I look forward to this one. Thanks for the tip Buzzlepuff.

I love this as well. A couple of weeks ago I asked here if anyone had ever heard of it, but got no replies. Isn't it just about the most complex absolute you've smelled? It would lend a fantastic complexity to many fragrances, especially the darker or more woody types, possibly in an incense-y type too. Liz is a genius.

Fragrances of this depth and complexity do not come along very often. Meerchaum is the essence of niche perfumery at its finest. I look forward to the release so I can try a decent wearing of it. This is one of the two best new niche fragrances I've sampled lately based on pure creativity - they are: Meerchaum by Soivohle and M/M Ink by Byredo. Both are off the charts in creativite style points, IMO.
