Fragrances which are different with each wearing

This evening, I am wearing Ambre Russe (Parfum dEmpire).

Last time I wore Ambre Russe was maybe a week or so ago and it was all about the leather note. That leather just jumped out front and stayed out front. I enjoyed that.

This time, the Amber came on early and is staying strong. And I'm enjoying that too.

I've noticed with Ambre Russe that it really is variable as to what it will be each time. I haven't been able to pin down any cause/effect for this or any consistency in the pattern either. Any ideas here about why a fragrance would be so variable or about what might cause these differences? It's not seasonal or temperature or any such thing because the environment today is much the same as it was a week ago.

This is really, by the way, one thing I love about Ambre Russe. Owning a bottle of it is like owning ten different fragrances because there's at least ten different ways it can go. This really adds to the fun and enjoyment... and the mystery and anticipation... of it.

What other fragrances are there which are so variable?

Chergui can be quite variable on my skin. I agree I enjoy all these variations and it adds to the fun.

The winner for me is Tubéreuse Criminelle, a real schizo !
A SPRS seller said it is one of the most sensible fragrance to any variation of skin ph, hygrometry, temperature...

To me, especially Knize Ten reveals a myriad of facets with almost each reapplication

Amouage Reflection Man is my most variable fragrance, and yes, like you said, it's (usually) a great thing. It's also one of the reasons I wear it so often. Unfortunately, every once in a while, it goes kind of wonky and doesn't end up smelling so great. I wish it just varied between excellent smells, but about 1 in 8 or 10 wearings it smells off.

Only one does this on me that I know of and its great every time: Bond No. 9 Riverside Dr.
It smells just a little different every time but always wonderfull.

Wow, good call on Ambre Russe. It is kind of it's downfall with me, however. Still, I am exploring going to a large decant. Really interesting how it changes from wear to wear.
