Too many frags with oranges and/or ginger?

Hey guys:

I don't know what you've been sniffiing lately, but I seem to be getting a lot with oranges and ginger accords. Don't get me wrong, I love both of these notes. However, it seems that lately I'm being pummeled with oranges and hit over the head with a ginger stick. Examples... hmmm... Givenchy Pi Neo, Givenchy Play, Guess by Marciano, Zegna Forte, Kenzo Woody, and La Nuit. All nice, but getting a bit tiresome already.

I'm with Siffter and BradW. Ginger is the new black.

Oddly, I am getting lots of both orange AND ginger, as strange as it may sound from a male frag not even released recently, rather an already classic powerhouse from the 80's: Jaguar for Men (green bottle) has, to my nose, a strong orange-ginger note, which is quite crisp and zesty, yet sometimes slightly too soapy even for my taste- though the frag in itself is definitely not bad

I've been smelling oranges, ginger and spices all afternoon as my girlfriend is wearing Spezie de Medici by i Profumi di Firenze. I love the smell of this one, reminds me of Christmas.

One of my favs (I KNOW he was not a perfumer) is Parfums D'Orsay Le Dandy: whiskey, tobacco, spices and ginger.

Good timing for this thread as I just received (as a belated birthday gift) a gift set of Burberry Sport. It's the first, to me, that has the ginger so far up front. In this case, it's "frozen ginger." Lovin it!

Is it really? I first thought >LIKE THIS< of Etat Libre D'Orange has something unique to it.

Guess by Marciano for Men is a potent Orange/Ginger scent. I don't mind this recent addition to the fray one bit.

I can't say I'm noticing this....I don't have anything against either, and I quite like ginger. Truth be told I almost never encounter orange on anybody, and don't own any fragrances that have it as a prominent note. Maybe it's a regional thing?

Most frags have a orangy citrus at the beginning all the time, sometimes it is cool but after a while it can get real boring.
