Thanks to a generous donation of Penhaligon's samples by the Museum Shop at the Yale Center for British Art (contact info for ordering is in post #11), we have 113 samples to send around to 24 Basenoters. A couple are spray decants from testers but almost all are carded 1.5 ml glass vials with dabbers.

All groups are now closed. Packages will be mailed Monday.

There may be something left over for backup member or two but I'm not holding my breath!

Simple rules:

• Each member may test all the samples in their box. Please be considerate as to how much you use, so that all 6 group members will have juice to test! It isn't fun to receive an empty sample vial.
• Keep the samples for no longer than 20 days and then pass it to the next member.
• Please post when you receive and when you mail your package so we can keep track of them.
• Opinions on the fragrances are welcome but not required.

I would love to sample! As I have No experience whatsoever with anything from Penhaligon's any group would be fine with me .
I'm curious about Bluebell .The guide hated it and Mimi Gardinia here on BN loves it. Hmmm .
Will there be any information about where we can order one (or more ) of these fragrances if we fall in love with one(or more)?

and in group 3 we have PerfumedLady.

It's fine with me if you've done this before with us. It's all new fragrances anyway.

While there is a lull, let me add the contact information for the Yale Center for British Art Museum Shop where you can buy not only Penhaligon's but also an assortment of really nice art cards, art books and other things that I drool over every time I visit. Oh, and they will ship!

If you can visit the museum, there is cheap on-street parking with meters; also pricey parking in a dedicated lot right behind the museum (parking in the lot is free on Sundays, though.) And the museum admission is free!

I am brand-new today. Hello!

I understand that the very newest may not make the list at all, and i'm alright with that. If i do make the list it will be a great chance to sample some things at my leisure. It's mall/strip-mall hell where i live, and between pushy, just-looking-thanks-anyway suburban moms and busy clerks who may or may not be very proficient to begin with... it's hard to get very acquainted with fragrances.

This is an exciting new world for me, and i'm stoked for the opportunity. Thank you for considering me.

Aramanthine, group 1 or 2 please.

Okay here is how it stands right now (did a little rearranging so first to post get samples first):

Group 1 (room for 2 more): FrouFrou, bookwyrmsmith, coopmom, portzblitz (who will be last in this group as newly joined today.)
Group 2 (room for 4 more): Twolf (tentatively unless she prefers Elixer), Primrose (I bumped you up, girl!)
Group 3 (room for 2 more): PerfumedLady, Al Gae, N. Tesla, warum
Group 4 (room for 3 more): emflores26, Hillaire, Force of One

I've got basically no experience with Penhaligons.. make that actually none (I had to look, I thought I had perhaps tested one).. and I'd love to check them out. I don't even have any experience with most of the more restrained English houses like them. Also, a handful of their scents are done by Duchaufour, and that's definitely enough to get me excited!

I'd like to be in the Elixir group if possible, thank you!

I'm rather excited myself! I'll ship on Monday-- hopefully all the groups will be filled by then.

I really want to try this again with other manufacturer samples, after this one is over. I think others (Creed, Lutens, Diptyque, Malle, others?) may be interested in donating if we say what we are doing with the fragrances. But I'm getting ahead of myself here.

I think we may have a shot with Diptyque,particularly if we call the New York boutique.They seem to be very accomodating.

This is easy. When my daughter was 3 years old (and clamoring for attention whenever I was on the phone) I was in charge of arranging housing for about 100 people, in the homes of local church members. People were traveling from all over for a conference, some were couples, and I had to match up the hosts' housing and transportation from airports availability with the guests needs, and give them directions as well. Now that was nuts.

I'm thinking back...I didn't have either a computer or cell phone back then.. whatever possessed me to volunteer for that? LOL
