Which should I pick? Chanel no. 22 Edt or 31 Rue Cambon Edt?
be honest with yourself, you're going to end up with both anyway, so which one do you fancy having first?

Eventually yes. Rue Cambon sounds more exciting. But I dont know. Is there anyone who's using it?

31 is a very bitter dry chypre which I find quite challenging but likeable all the same , I take it that you have sampled both ?

Not the 31. I have the 22 in parfum extrait but I've heard alot of good things about 31.

Hi Siifter, is this going to be your next purchase?

Yes Any thoughts?
Yes. Here's my suggestion to you. I see that these 2 are not in your wish list. If you want to buy another frag, I recommend you getting one from your wishlist. I think you'll be happier if you pursue your wish list. On that note, get the Coromandel. =)

Well... I havent updated my wishlist. lol 31 Rue Cambon SHOULD be in my wishlist
post #10 of 30
^^^ Then you just made your choice! =)

Of the two, I would go for 31 Rue Cambon.

But personally, from your wishlist, IMO the best is Coromandel. This is next in my wish list! hahaha
post #11 of 30
Actually you have a very good wishlist. Would also love to have those in my collection. But only one by one. But of the five, my pick would be, still Coromandel.

My only chance to get Coromandel is to visit the Chanel store in London. Of course there's eBay but... $260 for a bottle? I mean... Come on! lol
post #13 of 30
Isn't 31 Rue Cambon also of the same price? Your frags in your wish list are all part of the Les Exclusifs line. $210 for 200ml. But now some of the Les Exclusifs are available in 75ml.

Not in the UK until next year in the smaller sizes

No... I've found an auction on eBay which has a VERY decent price. I cant get those 75 ml. Chanel only ships within the US.

Have they mentioned anything about shipping in Europe?

I saw your wardrobe. I wanted to see what kind of fragrances you like. But 99% of your fragrances have 5 stars !!
Would you like to try A*Men? It's a good stuff.
I didn't try 31 Rue Cambon. But personally i like Chypre fragrances

The thing is that Chanel never disappoints me. Every fragrance is fantastic. That brand is such a huge favourite that I've limited myself to it. Chanel has such a wide spectra of different scents that I dont need anything else. Hmm... A*Men... I rather stick to Chanel. But thanks anyway.

Oh, ok. Well Lagerfeld has got some nerve to not allow shipping to Europe.

Of the two, I'd say 31 Rue Cambon.
I'm with Volley2 though in considering Coromandel as superior. With winter approaching, this stuff is just magical. My decant is near empty and I'll definately be looking to replace it.

I wear 31 rue Cambon regularly - it's in my top 3 currently. Between 31 rue Cambon, No.22 or Coromandel I'd say it's 31 rC hands down. Very elegant with some remarkable nuances. I do agree Chanel fragrances seldom disappoint with exceptions likely to come from their masculine-marketed line.

Overall, I like 31 Rue Cambon much better than No. 22. The 22 is, in my opinion, too aldehyde-top-heavy and not that exciting. I have been seriously thinking about buying the 31, but have not done so yet because it does not have great longevity on my skin. It seems to be totally gone within 4-5 hours. I think Tania Sanchez found the same thing and that's why she says in The Guide that it should be sprayed on fabric to "slow the slide show". But 31 is truly awesome as a fragrance composition and I loved it from the first sniff.
