Yo guys. Help me out here. 212 Men or Acqua Di Gio?

Well. I was going to get another backup bottle of Le Male, but my current bottle is pretty much still full and i have a back up waiting, so here goes this:

My friend says if i give him my Acqua Di Gio(which i got for a gift that i barely use becaues i simply reach for Allure Homme Sport and L'eau D'Issey more often), he'll by me 212 Men.

The question is simply. whats better

212 Men or Acqua Di Gio?
Avoid both, imo
Personally, I would take Aqua di Gio, but it sounds like 212 is what you prefer, so go with what you like!
Aqua di Gio is way better then 212 Men if you ask me. The big problem with it is that it is as mainstream as you can get and there are probably millions of people who wear this. 212 is a headache inducing scrubber for me and it smells unpleasantly synthetic.

I prefer 212! Definitely 212. I'm not big on aquatics

How old is your AdG bottle? When you say gift, do you mean like this year or 10 years ago. I notice that nail polish seems to creep in when frags spoil, so maybe you need to cross-check your bottle with someone elses to see if it's just your nose or a bad bottle.
Anyway, I would say that 212 is more unique and actually seems to smell quite nice IMO.

AdG.....Gary

If he's buying you a bottle in trade for your AdG, why is he restricting you to 212? Establish a price range, and pick something for yourself.

Definitely this.

They are both equally dreadful.
I'd keep the Adg....but just wondering why you were considering buying a second backup of le male? It's not like they are discontinuing it or are they?

Again, why is he only offering to buy 212? If he's buying, you should have the option to pick something else of comparable price, no?

at the moment, the thing i would want if i was swapping ADG would be 212 Men. im just trying to make the choice of whether i really like 212 better then ADG
post #19 of 43
But I doesn't make sense to check the opinions of others for that. I know it's an overused phrase but nontheless it's true: go with your own nose! Now you've heared all kinds of opinions and still don't know wether you'll be happy with your choice in the long run. In case you are not, just sell or swap it again...

Both is boring as h*ll
212 for sure. AdG is too played out.
212 is the better of the two but that's still not saying much - I would avoid both.
Why don't you go to the store and spray some 212 men on your arm and let it be there for a day? In that way you can decide which you like best since you own AdG and have already worn it.

I'll echo the above sentiments:

avoid them both lest you smell like every other 20 year old kid on campus

Indeed. If you live near a Sephora, get a sample of 212 and give it a few wearings.

Cool Water!
i prefer ADG, for scentimental values as well.
have him buy you 5 bottles of grey flannel instead

Aqua di Gio

212 can, at times, remind me of a chemical toilet on a bus
post #31 of 43
Sell the AdG and buy something you like. I don't care much for either of the two options.
I've never liked ADG much. 212 Men I've always thought a marvellous stand out scent.

There's a little bit of sweetness, but not much at all. I'm not sure where it comes from. I know D&G The One is the sweeter of the two.

There's a whole bunch of youtube reviews of 212, check those out. And like someone said, go to a sephora and get a sample of it and see if you like it.

yeah ive seen all the youtube reviews. just wanna get your guys' opinions too. u seem like an educated bunch haha

Another reason I prefer 212 is that it seems more dynamic. Green/citrus opening, spicy floral heart, and then a very enjoyable woodsy drydown. I love the drydown.

I recommend sampling them both, picking your favorite, and posting about your findings here. Dazzle us with your insights!
Forget both. Take cash instead and buy some samples. Expand your horizons! I;m glad I did.
