Happy Week Everybody

Agent Provocateur by Agent Provocateur
The composition starts strong and sharp with a spicy note of saffron. Warm floral notes of magnolia, Indian jasmine and gardenia blend together with strong woodsy-chypre scent. There is very animalistic amber and musk notes in the base.

I'm wearing VINTAGE Nina by Nina Ricci from the 80's. So much better than the new stuff ...
Kenzo Amour. I feel a teeeeeeeeeeeeeensy bit overwhelmed today and need to calmly work my way through a huge pile of stuff. This fits the bill. It's like wearing a fragrance 'comforter'.

Plus I'll be cooking rice later and this will work well there too.

Kiliwia: Anticipate an absolutely astonishing autumnal "anniversaire aujourd'hui."

JM Black Amber & Ginger Lily again. It's taking over my October SotD. Like those in England, we're having a gray day. Wish it would storm. I do love hunkering down in our castle with weather like that.

Okay, let's have it for breakfast with Kiliwia's birthday cake.

Now to deal with one of those "work projects that never die" as Actialuna mentioned recently.

Happy Birthday Kiliwia!

JC De Castelbajac AW 2010

Castelbajac for me today. Usually the almond hides under the laundry musk (I was soo disappointed when I blind bought it years ago, before completely falling for it on it's own merits). Today? It's a little puff of bitter almond. Noses are bizarre things!

Hello everyone and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO KILIWIA!! Today has been a good learning experience at the place I "work as a social worker" / apprentice.Seems the rule is " why make things easy if you can make it really complicated and bureaucratic instead! Basically been on the phone the whole day to TRY fix this "no place to live business after the patient has to leave the psychiatric hospital". Still frustrated! Sotd is Trouble.
Scent quad with those in Shalimar, but I'm merely sniffing mine from the bottle, not wearing it.

Edit ~ Many happy returns to Kiliwia!

Lol..
2 minutes between our posts....

There must be some secret addictive ingredient in this scent: once I start sniffing, it's hard to stop!

The Poeme I wore this afternoon is still clinging on for dear life, about 6.5 hours after my bath that was supposed to tone it down a little. It now smells like the scented wet towels handed out in many Chinese restaurants.

Edit ~ To h*ll with Poeme! I'm applying some S EDT now...

All you Shalimar people, my goodness!

I am wearing Le Parfum de Therese.

Despite yesterday's promise to cease my wallowing, I still can't quite bring myself up to "happy" yet, so I'm doing the next best thing and seeking comfort in Donna Karan Black Cashmere, dabbed from a sample. It seems to be working. I'm liking it more with each test drive.

Happy Birthday to Kiliwia! Many happy returns on the day.
No Shalimar for me, it's the scent that got me started on my perfume journey but not one I can wear, unfortunately. Instead, I am enjoying YSL's "Y" I picked up at a fragrance kiosk. I go through phases with this where I want to wear it all the time, then I don't wear it at all for months.
30 Roses, I got your sweet package. Thank you! You can send a pm now too, btw.
Did you all read my review of Aventus in the latest Sniffapalooza Magazine? I put my "bossy" pants on just for us ladies. I hope you like it. http://www.sniffapaloozamagazine.com...-a-Gender.html

Sampling Ambra by Etro today.

It's nice, a very soft amber. Probably won't buy it, though.

Happy Birthday to Kiliwia!
Nice review, RHM! I'll sniff this next time I get a chance --
OK, ExtremeKF, time to pull yourself up by your black cashmere bootstraps and get a smile on!!

Well, I'm not wearing Shalimar today -- I've never even SNIFFED it! (I hear gasps...)
But, ODDLY ENOUGH! Today, via an auction I'd forgotten that I'd bid on (with my trusty snipe-bid program) I won a partial bottle of, yes.... WAIT FOR IT.... **SHALIMAR** (about 15 mls), for under $10 including shipping. A good way to try it out, cheaper than a mini, and I don't like those little 1 or 2 ml sample/decants -- my nose-to-brain-connection is too slow, I need more juice than that to try out a scent!

But, I digress, what were we talking about? Oh yes, SOTD: Jolie Madame!

Hau'oli La Hanau to Kiliwia, fellow October baby and fan of plumeria!

I was undecided today regarding SotD, so I opened my cabinet and just let my hand drift, Ouija-board style. It went to Nuit de Tubereuse. Pretty neat, huh? :-)

It's a tuberose and plumeria fragrance and I LOVE this! (Did anyone faint?) Amazing, I know. I think I'm following in Wordbird's change 'o chemistry path of late. Sheesh...I remember writing reviews of Neil's scents & disliking the one with a strong plumeria note. Maybe I should try it again.

Happy Birthday, Kiliwia!

I was so busy today I did not wear a perfume.
But now I am going to bed in

Ha! No one fainted. The SotD report had nothing to do with Kiliwia's birthday picture, though it would have been *really* neat if my hand had reached for a plumeria fragrance like Le'a or Beige! (Oh wait - I don't own Beige. I just wish I did!)

Or you could do what I've been doing - look for a sample lot of the same perfume, buy it for next to nothing, then move all those little samples into a decant bottle and smell away. I've bought 15 ml and 12 ml in the last two days for less than $10.00 apiece, including shipping.

Happy Birthday Kiliwia! Many, many, more.

And today, for a running-around-errand day, Feminite du Bois (the Shiseido version) with a little bit of Omnia due to a (fortunate) decanting leak. They actually play pretty nice together!
