What are the top COMFORT scents? - Page 2

Mouchoir de Monsieur - "the gentelmen's handkerchief" interpreted and it is intended to give off comfort signals and it does.
Habit Rouge Beau Cavalier - no rough edges here, very cozy.
Musks Kublai Khan - warm and comfortable in drydown.
Cadjemere - interpreted means "cashmere" and reminds me of cashmere.

Any fragrance that has a bit of amber, vanilla, or warmth that doesn't become cloying in the drydown can be a perfect comfort scent.

My top comfort scents:

Prada Amber Pour Homme - so soft, yet warm. Yes, a cashmere sweater, or fine wool blanket.

Amouage Opus III - again, soft and warm. Slightly powdery, yet dry and not too sweet. Perhaps my favorite "curl up and read scent."

Let Me Play the Lion - a simple and yet deep incense and wood composition that is soft and has no sharp edges. A great autumn and winter comfort scent that evokes time spent beside a warm hearth.

For me, the top is Un Bois Vanille. Warm, sweet and comforting.

Some others I find comforting: 5 O'Clock au Gingembre, Idole, L'Instant pour Homme EDP

Looks like I may be the singular exception who thinks patchouli is comforting. Bois 1920 Real Patchouly are Montale Patchouli Leaves are my favorite comfort scents. Honorable mentions to Voleur de Roses (comforting with a melancholy vibe), and all the fragrances that I purchased to commemorate some event (Sous le Vent, Knize Ten, Mitsouko). Not comforting per se, but my association of them to a happy moment in time is comforting.

Dior Homme, Chergui, Tonka Impériale, Mitsouko

Plus 3 scents that I have been wearing for 20 years: Antaeus, Equipage and Bel Ami. I guess that any scent that has been in a wardrobe for more than 10 years should qualify, even if doesn't include gourmand or soothing notes such as amber, vanilla or lavender.

love this.. was just thinking of a thread like this.. luckily saw one

comforts scents are 'seasonal' for me too, depends on the day and my mood.. though most often are either simple sweet scents or herbal/light incense scents.. and i notice that more often than not, i dont wear these much in the office and vice versa for office scents :P

my favorites have been choices from (hmm.. many of them are technically female perfumes):
hypnotic poison
bvlgari black
bois farine
kyoto
cipresso di toscana
diptyque jardin clos (weird and irritating when i wear it out but as a room spray it smells quite nice for me)
philosykos
Opium EDP (when the weather is right)
le baiser du dragon
miel de bois
and a few countless others

p.s. sables and old spice mentioned by many sound really nice.. will check those out, thanks
sables must still be available but is it officially discontinued? they dont carry it here (asia) in the annick goutal section.. or maybe the demand is just not that big here..

p.p.s. dior homme and joop homme are two of my all time favorites but i've previously been wearing them quite a lot in the office so i dont think they'll will work easily as a comfort scent soon after that.. luckily, i've depleted my bottles and am giving my nose a rest from them first..

Not weird at all; unless you read the ingredients of the vintage Opium label, spray on the coffee, and smell the good book.

The most comforting scent I own is Chanel No.5

Dolce & Gabbana The One for men. It takes a panning over it's projection and longevity, but if it's just for your own comfort, this could be a perfect choice.
