Happy Tuesday

Top notes include gardenia, neroli, and ylang-ylang. At its heart the notes of iris, orange blossom, jasmine, tuberouse and Bulgarin rose make a perfect floral bouquet. The base is made of cedar, patchouli, vanilla, musk and amber. It was created by Daniela Roche-Andrier and Christian Biecher in 2003.

Y'all have a great day!

I'm going with Berdoues Violettes de Toulouse today, and taking Mom out on a mother-daughter "date"-- visiting the local Senior Center to see if they have anything she might like to sign up for, then shopping and lunch.

We're planning to do something together each Tuesday. I also go over briefly each evening to be sure she took her meds. She really needs this; she hasn't really integrated into the community life at her new residence. Being widowed and having to move to a different state at 81 is hard, very hard.

Good Day Everyone. My SOTD is Elizabeth Ardens 'RED DOOR' I always get tons of compliments when I wear this. I try to use a light hand with this scent or it can be a little overwhelming LOL!!

I feel ya, 30 Roses. Right now my mind is on my 95-year-old uncle who entered hospice after the Packer game Sunday. He opted out of treatment, but insisted he not leave ICU until after the game. He's not your typical 95yo -- tough lot this strain of Bohemians. Even after his heart stops, I bet he'll still be chewing the biggest meal ordered from the kitchen on that fateful day. The French call it joie de vivre -- I guess the Germans call it lebensfreude.

Wearing Bulgari Au Thé Blanc from dear Ubu.

I'm reprising yesterday afternoon and going layering-mad today with a "base" of Sycomore and Platinum Egoiste, a little aged Indonesian patchouli oil and a spritz of Bulgari Black on top... just went with my instincts this morning, as my officemate is out for the day I figured I could go nuts! (it's nice, all the interplay between the dry PE, smoke of the Sycomore, leather and tea and a teensy vanilla sweet note of the BB and the earthy combo of the vetiver in Sycomore with patch.)

Perfect for a slightly rainy, cool-ish fall day! I think the combo comes off smelling like a pile of aromatic golden/brown/green leaves.

I'm sticking the the tried, true and simple single scent of Chanel's Bois des Iles.

A very friendly SA at Dillard's spritzed me all over with EL's Sensuous today. I usually resist being scented by strangers, but I must admit I really like this fragrance.

switching to Delrae Coup de Foudre this afternoon. This is really growing on me. Didn't over-impress me at first, BUT I keep sampling it, which is a pretty good indication of a FB in the future....

Since I'm in a mood where a lot of perfume isn't just QUITE enough... I'm wearing the powerful Knowing this afternoon. Much to my chagrin, a fellow coming out of the elevator at lunchtime OUTDID me... he was wearing a very aldehydic feminine 'fume as far as I could tell, but I didn't recognize it... and he walked out of the elevator in a cloud of white and pink floral that made my aldehyde-sensitive nose twitch. Quite fabulous and flamboyant he was, and workin' the scent. Loved it even though I didn't ask what it was.

I'm wearing JPG Classique EDP today.

With my good spirits restored (largely), I have been in Musc Ravageur all day. Boy, does that stuff have staying power. Love it! (And it's in that fabulous vanilla dessert phase now. YUM!)
I'm now wearing some Egyptian Musk oil from Kuumba Made from a little roller bottle I bought at Whole Foods today. At least, I think I am. I can't smell it. Looks like this may be another musk I'm anosmic to. The tester bottle with the little dab wand smalled good. This roller bottle smells like...I don't know, sort of like dried twigs & dirt.

30R, I hope the following makes you laugh even a fraction as much as it did me and DH.
My cousin's DIL just broadcast this email update.
Well, I have to say that Satch is one unbelievably tough cookie!! When I arrived this morning, he was sitting up in bed visiting with son Paul. He looked well rested and relaxed. Breakfast came shortly after I arrived and he had quite the appetite. He ate all his cream of wheat, an english muffin with grape jelly, half of a huge poppyseed danish, chocolate milk and another bowl of strawberries that Paul brought from Satch's freezer. He made me save his glass of grape juice for later when I took his tray away. He is very happy with the food and told me today that if he does end up going home he is going to find someone to cook for him. ... As of this morning his vital signs were normal ... Once again he told me he is ready to die and hoped it would not be to much longer. Please know that he seems very content and comfortable. I will have breakfast with him again tomorrow and send another update tomorrow evening.
I guess I'll stop worrying about Uncle Satch! Time to spray on something happy: Mira Bai!

Many of you know that I come in contact with older folks on a daily basis. We have that 98 y.o. lady who had lost her husband and four of her five children already, today she comes out about 1:30 pm with a question " Have I had lunch?" Yes you did, we say, but if you are hungry we can get you something else. She says: "Yes, I would like something flavorful". Like what? "What have you got?" After ennumeration and contemplation, she says a cream cheese Danish and a glass of grape juice sound good to her. And then when a person brings it to her, she asks: "Are you a salesman of sorts and trying to sell me all these?"

Coriandre for the evening.

Hugs for Quarry and especially 30Roses and her mom...hope you all are having a good evening and that tomorrow is a good day for you and your families...

SOTD: Caron Infini

Infini is such a beauty, but something about my day has made it seem a bit heavier and slightly sharper than yesterday's wearing. Seems impossible that a Caron could be "sharp", doesn't it? Anyhow, I still enjoy this one...it's maybe one of the best "blind buys" that I have made recently...

Wearing Coriolan today. It is soft, but it is still going. Very restrained fragrance.
I like it but I find it a tad boring. I went to visit my other office and found a mini Shalimar EdT in one of the drawers. I dabbed some.
