Hello!
I love vanilla perfumes! My favourites are VS Vanilla Lace and L'Aromarine Vanille!Any other similar vanilla perfumes I should try? There are so many vanilla perfumes out there and I'm a bit confused!!

Hi Ronnie, welcome to basenotes! Have you tried any of La Maison de la Vanille's scents? They do five different ones, some floral, some dark & spicy. All are inexpensive & worth a try l think. Another more expensive one is Vanitas by Profumum.

Edited to add Vanillary by Gorilla perfumes, a recent love of mine. lt has gorgeous notes of burnt sugar, tonka & jasmine, yum!

Un Bois Vanille by Serge Lutens

Vanille Bourbon by Yves Rocher
Vanille Noire by Yves Rocher

There are alot of good vanillas out there, heres a list of some.

Spiritueuse Double Vanille by Guerlain
Vanille Galante by Hermes
Vanilla Extasy by Montale
Note Vanillee by Micallef
Vanille Exquise by Annick Goutal
Vanille by Calypso Christiane Celle
Vanille Extreme by Comptoir Sud Pacifique
Vanisia by Creed
Havana Vanille by L'Artisan Parfumeur
Boise Vanille by Montale
Vanilla Tonka by Parfums de Nicolai
Un Bois Vanille by Serge Lutens
Vanille 44 by Le Labo

My two favorites at the moment are the Hermes and the Guerlain but the price of both is a deterent. The La Maisons listed above by Teardrop are more price friendly and so is the Comptoir Sud Pacifiques. I also like Vaniliary by Gorilla perfumes, very simple vanilla, but it's really nice. I hope this helps you find a few to try.

Awesome list Kiliwia May I add Vanille Aoud from Martine Micallef , it really is something spectacular

These are just some I've tried and my impressions. You (or others) might have a totally different impression!

Of those listed so far, Un Bois Vanille is my very favorite. It's not a "foody" vanilla, but it is sweet and smoky with a kind of burnt caramel thing that I just love. Annick Goutal's Vanille Exquise is a powdery, simple vanilla (at least to my nose) - but my skin eats perfumes, so it doesn't last all that long for me - yours might do better. Vanille Tonka is a citrusy start to a
nice vanilla. And I just recently received a sample of La Maison de la Vanille's Vanille Sauvage de Madagascar, which is a rich vanilla pastry-like scent, if you like those. There's also L'Artisan's Vanilia which is somewhere between the Vanille Exquise and the Vanille Sauvage, and didn't really have the longevity that I was looking for.

Enjoy your search, and let us know what you find!

An on-going quest of mine, every year the thermometer scale drops.

"And I still have not found what I am looking for".

Jo Malone has a Vanilla/Anise fragrance that I thought was interesting.

I haven't sampled beyond smelling it on paper at the store though so I can't give an opinion, but its been lingering on my mind for a few days and I'm thinking of ordering a sample.

You might want to try Diptyque's new Eau Duelle, which has me totally captivated. Vanilla, lots of spices: cardamon, juniper, saffron, over a nice incense/musk/black tea base. I have the perfume solid which is extremely long lasting, but it does skip over some of the top notes.

I have a small bottle of Vanilla Anise and I really like it, I wasn't so sure I would, it came as part of a set, but it's my favorite of the 6 in the set.

Molinard has done a number of vanilla scents. I recently bought Vanille Patchouli (it's an edt) and like it very much. Lots of vanilla, not much patchouli, actually. Sillage is moderate. On my skin this fragrance lasts all day. Not very expensive, either--look around at the online frag sites.

Nobody else is going to recommend this, but I'm gonna because I'm just that sad. I love love love the Sunshine Cuties edition of Lil' Angel. It's a gorgeous citrus vanilla, very fresh and light, and very, very sweet. I like sweet! It's youthful and playful and very edible. The only thing that irritates me is the 10ml bottle, which isn't good value for money at all. Fortunately! You can score a 100ml tester from this eBay seller. I'm waiting anxiously for mine to arrive.

I'd also recommend Vaniglia del Madagascar by i Profumi di Firenze. That's a slightly woody vanilla, with a faint floral I can't identify.

I agree. I got a sample over the weekend, and I couldn't keep my nose off my arm.

Kiliwia, glad you liked the Jo Malone , I think I'd like it too, now I want a sample. Where I grew up in California, the hills had anise growing all over them, so the vanilla/anise combo was a pleasant smell for me, nostaligic but fresh in a new way for my newbie nose.

I'll second the Vaniglia from iPdF as exactly what mel lou describes - solid vanilla that is not sweet and hints at some wood and a very faint soft floral. I sprayed a non perfume loving friend with it as an introduction, and she immediatly said "floral" which totally surprised me. I thought she would say "hmmm, vanilla". I'm no expert on vanilla frags, in fact I have a 6 set sampler pack in my stash to test, but I own that one because it is easy, comforting and not extreme.

My most favorite rendition of vanilla is in Tabac Blond, current extrait, but, then, I do not look explicitly for vanilla-centered frags.
My personal favorite is Guerlain's SDV. If I smell it right out of the small decant I own, I get a big whiff of vanilla ice cream. I love it!

Yay Vanilla!!!! I still love the original Body Shop Vanilla perfume oil, but I don't know how available that is.
a few others that I know are available:
Pilar and Lucy - The exact friction of stars
La Maison de la Vanille - Vanille Noire du Mexique
L'Artisan - Havana Vanille

I too think Vaniglia Madagascar is wonderful. I wore it today, not too overpowering, but just right. Definitely vanilla and a great fragrance for the Holidays.

Shalimar every time!
Montale's Vanilla Absolu is a lovely slightly smoky adult vanilla - long lasting too.
I love Hypnotic Poison for the vanilla and almond / anise.
