Good all around body wash that doesn't offend or clash with other fragrances?

Hey all... Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a good bodywash that's pleasant smelling but will not compete with any random fragrance I may put on?

Perhaps even fragrance free body washes that clean well.. Moisturizing is a plus..

Thanks!

Dove or any sorbolene body wash - Natural Selections make a sorbolene shower cream to be used just like a body wash.

Dr. Bronners Peppermint wakes me up and doesn't seem to interfere with fragrances.

+1 on the Dr. Bronners. Actually any Dr. Bronners, for that matter.

I've found that more natural soaps/body washes without synthetic fragrance (even if essential oils in them create a scent) do not linger on the skin like a synthetically-fragranced body wash would.

Another vote for Dove, even their scented products are so neutrally-smelling that they seem virtually odorless, besides the way they are tolerated by the skin but also leaving the skin well moisturized, actually enhancing the lasting power and projection of fragrances a little bit, without imposing its own scent, is just great

Any Philosophy shower gel.

Biotherm Aqua Fitness. I swear by it!

If you have a Trader Joe's close to you they have a nice body wash with a mild ( orange and grapefruit ) fragrance; it's also very reasonably priced.

The Nivea line of combo shampoo/body washes work well for me. I only use it as shampoo maybe once a week; I use better Redken stuff the other days.

I'm a big fan of the Jack Black all in one Shampoo/Body/Face Wash. You can get it in a 32oz pump so it doesnt clutter the shower. Refreshing in the shower and doesnt linger long enough to interfere with frags.

I agree with Joe on the Philosophy line. My wife and I have the travel kit and use it on the road.

I usually just keep a couple different shower gels and use one with a scent which is the same general type as my SotD. I've been enjoying good bar soaps from a nearby health-food store lately.

Lots of people use Dr. Bronner's Peppermint for this purpose, and the smell does indeed fade quickly. However, I never found it to be very moisturizing. As a side note, if having a mentholated nether-region sounds like a good way to start your day it might be a good purchase. I found it to be rather more "tingly" than expected. YMMV.

Because my skin tends to become dry and sometimes even chapped with certain regular soaps, I use Eucerin calming body oil or the generic CVS equivalent. It is unscented, though.

I use the art of shaving soap, body wash, or body scrub, but the dove with the grains in it is VERY NICE.

I ordered Dr. Bronner's Peppermint on the many recommendations made by people in several Men's Grooming subforum threads. While I haven't had a chance to use it yet, it does smell pretty good in the bottle.

So, I'm not sure how to broach this subject but...erm, what is the deal with all of the rubbish written on the label? Google tells me it is the eponymous founder's personal philosophy, like stream-of-consciousness in size-2 font. Whatever "Moral ABCs" are, the condensed version is some trippy shit.

Have I unwittingly joined a cult?

That's part of what Dr. Bronner is known for - he has a weird "moral" philosophy that actually kinda makes sense if you approach it with an open mind. However, most people think he was crazy.

Doesn't matter to me though, because his soaps are the bomb-diggity!

If I was in the habit of taking proper baths, I am sure a few drops of the stuff would turn my tub into Cloud 9. But I just cannot get the stuff to foam properly in the shower using my bath gloves (exfoliation is underrated).

Should I be using a bath puff, or just more than a few drops at a time? I haven't gotten any "tingling" in the nether regions, as someone earlier, but using the Peppermint soap does feel a bit like bathing with a giant candy cane for a loofah.

Dr. Bronners in liquid form. Costs $15 or so for the large size. Lasted 5 months! Great stuff. I used to like the peppermint one, but it didn't do as good at deodorizing power throughout the day as the Tea Tree version, in my experience. Possibly because Tea Tree oil is a great anti-bacterial.

Anything from Lush / Body shop that might fit the bill please?

Nancy Boy body wash in the Signature fragrance is also very nice, and the fresh scent doesn't linger.

I love The Body Shop shower gels, and stock up like crazy when they go on clearance (like £2, maybe twice a year). I'm also very conscious of not wanting my bathing products to clash with my perfume, but I find that these don't. Even the ones that smell pretty strong in the bottle fade on the skin really quickly once you dry off. But if you're worried, there are a couple that smell really mild - the cocoa butter and shea ones, for example.
