Boucheron Pour Homme

post #1 of 10

My father usually wears Boucheron Pour Homme, but for this christmas i was thinking of maybe giving him something else. Since he really likes this one I wonder if there is something similar to BPH but maybe not as strong.
Thanks in advance!

Truly Boucheron is in a league of its own. Ive never really smelled anything like it but may I suggest that you try out more from the Boucheron house. Jaipur is just as wonderful as Boucheron. Something i can probably recommend is Kenzo Power. Its a bit subtle and has a flower citrusy feel to it. Its quite nice.

I have a couple of suggestions, and I'm listing the notes so you can see where/how I think they are similar fragrances. All three should be readily available (although the Colonia Essenza might be a bit harder to come by). The Eau Savage might be too lemony, and you might think it's too strong; so I'd lean towards the Colonia.

Boucheron:
top note Verbena, Bergamot, Seville orange, Basil;
middle note Ylang-ylang, Rose, Lily of the valley, Carnation;
base note Vetiver, Sandal, Oakmoss, Benzoin

Eau sauvage by Dior

top note
Lemon, Petitgrain, Rosemary, Basil

middle note
Jasmine, Rose, Carnation, Orris

base note
Oakmoss, Vetiver, Musk

Colonia Essenza by Acqua Di Parma

top note
Lemon, Mandarin Orange, Orange, Grapefruit, Petit-Grain, Neroli, Bergamot

middle note
Rosemary, Jasmine, Clove, Lily-of-the-Valley, Rose

base note
Patchouli, Vetiver, White Musk, Amber

Colonia by Acqua Di Parma

top note
Bergamot, Lemon, Orange

middle note
Lavender, Bulgarian Rose, Ylang Ylang

base note
Patchouli, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Cedar

Seconded. Also, in the same spirit as BpH, if not necessarily the same fragrance category, Givenchy Gentleman or (perhaps) Guerlain Heritage.

thanks for the suggestions, I will try them!

How about YSL Haute concentre Pour Homme. Something also like Annick Goutal Eau D'hadrien. These are different but may be of interest to try.

Make that =1 more. Also, I see Cerutti 1881 as a quieter Boucheron or Eau Sauvage.

Maybe you laugh at this, but i see a few similarities between BPH and Open by Roger & Gallet. BPH has more citrus notes, and sharper. I think maybe Open be what you need.
