What is your preferred type/class of accommodation when traveling abroad?
Honey, I prefer first class all the way -- five star resorts, and bell hops in tow!
But I can only afford staying with friends and family!

Do you travel in style? Or do you... just travel?
A little of both.

"Slacker" - a truly awesome movie!

"Hook 'em, Horns!" (and then you make this bull thing-a-majig with your fingers).

Same question - I'm in a mood to learn (or perhaps dislearn) about Austin!

Who is your number one critic in your household or family?
I asked about Austin because we are having out annual SXSW music festival right now, and I cannot so much as go get coffee this city is so overrun with tourists. And it caused me to wonder how 'big' we've gotten, popularity-wise. Half of is very proud! But the other half just wants to go do stuff!

Next to myself, my mother, who else?

Hednic, that is a crazy cuke yield!!!! Did you pickle them?

Who in your family supports you the most?
My 2 year old twins but thats because they don't know any better. :P

Given the chance, would you opt for twins? I speak of the first 2 or 3 years of raising them.
Assuming you have already had experience with children of your own.
Myself? Some days no but more days yes. So yes.
I had a great time helping to raise my children, but one at a time was work enough. So in retrospect two at once - probably not.

Do you shy away from attention when directed toward you or welcome it?
I do not shy away nor do I overly welcome it. I take it as necessary. There is a thin line between humbleness and arrogance.

same Q
I'm shy by nature and don't like attention drawn to me even if it's well intended. It makes me uncomfortable.

In relation to other siblings, How spoiled would you say you were as a child?
The least spoiled. I am the only son between 3 sisters. Tough love was showed whether I liked it or not! lol In retrospect it was good. Actually, no ,not really lol. My youngest sister (10 years between us) is spoiled ten fold the amount of what my 2 sisters and I were given. Fortunately for my parents shes a very good girl in all aspects. Shes a junior in Biomedical Engineering university.

same Q
As the youngest of three, I was the most spoiled and received things the others didn't and was given opportunities the others weren't.

If you had to choose between losing your short-term memory or your long-term memory, which would you pick?
Short term of course. I can always use a pen and a paper or some sort of electronic device to help remind me (as I do) but long term memories are not operational requirements, they are the core of my existence.

same Q
Same Q, same answer: short term memory indeed, easier to deal with its temporary absence

what kind of blog would it be ("what kind" meaning here anything from its layout and fonts to its topics, contributors, links etc.)?

Forever! We drive them until they won't pass inspection anymore, and then we donate them to charity after that. Well, that goes for our station wagons anyway. Our station wagons have nicknames: The Wonder Wagon, The Rumbler, Brown Betty. We only have one at a time, I should clarify.

Yes I am. Maybe I shouldn't be.

How do you feel about children and exposure to MTV and similar.
I think it largely depends on how people choose to view these shows. Watching the Jersey Shore in and of itself doesn't make someone dumber, and the argument that the time could be better spent watching something else is erroneous. If all TV were filled with trashy reality shows then I think that would be the mark of a dumber society so I can't completely defend MTV either. In general, it's important to promote smarter and more well educated kids, and then when these kids watch an episode of Teen Mom it won't seem so bad because they'll have independent thinking to judge the content of those shows. I know this sounds dumb, but when I watch the Jersey Shore I often just view it as a big psychological experiment and therefore I sometimes even draw insight on human psych/philosophy from it.

That's the first issue that's kids/MTV related that popped into my head. Not sure if you were talking about something along the lines of "does MTV dumb our kids down". Maybe you were instead thinking about how MTV reveals to much sex and explicit content to children.

SQ and interpret the question as you wish
post #4074 of 6846
Personally, I would have no problem to exposure of kids to MTV, I just think that their viewing of ANY channel/broadcast by kids may need to be reconsidered, not it terms of parental control/child-proof lock, but trough which alternative to pop culture parents, school and the entourage might come up with

What is your opinion about reality shows?
I don't have to watch them. I'm sure some people enjoy them.
