Chocolate Greedy takes you inside a bakeshop - a chocolate-mocha cake in your one hand, and a sponge cake in the other, then you sit by the trays of chocolate cupcakes with orange frosting. The...
This begins as a strong "dirty" blast of sweaty musk (giving Muscs de Koublai Khan a run for its money). It calms down to a powdery musk after 15 minutes. Slowly a delicate rose note...
Onto the fragrance. I was fortunate enough to be able to obtain a sample of this through a generous BN'er. In my quest to find a cheap alternative to Philosykos, This one was not what I was...
I LOVE this fragrance...well at least I did until my most recent purchase from Nordstrom. I first purchased TDH back in 2009 and it quickly became my signature scent...I couldn't get enough of...
I used to help my Mom and GrandMother as a kid in the garden.....My Grandpa and Grandma had 3 BIG gardens.....I guess my answer would be that I helped!!!
I asked about Austin because we are having out annual SXSW music festival right now, and I cannot so much as go get coffee this city is so overrun with tourists. And it caused me to wonder how 'big' we've gotten, popularity-wise. Half of is very proud! But the other half just wants to go do stuff!
Next to myself, my mother, who else?
Hednic, that is a crazy cuke yield!!!! Did you pickle them?
My 2 year old twins but thats because they don't know any better. :P
Given the chance, would you opt for twins? I speak of the first 2 or 3 years of raising them.
Assuming you have already had experience with children of your own.
Myself? Some days no but more days yes. So yes.
The least spoiled. I am the only son between 3 sisters. Tough love was showed whether I liked it or not! lol In retrospect it was good. Actually, no ,not really lol. My youngest sister (10 years between us) is spoiled ten fold the amount of what my 2 sisters and I were given. Fortunately for my parents shes a very good girl in all aspects. Shes a junior in Biomedical Engineering university.
Short term of course. I can always use a pen and a paper or some sort of electronic device to help remind me (as I do) but long term memories are not operational requirements, they are the core of my existence.
Various, but quantum physics, medical progress, several aspects of IT and various other scientific topic can fascinate even a "scientifically impaired", rather non-scientifically structured personality like mine
If you could address an important national/transnational/international institution on any given topic/issue, what would it be?
Both shoulders. Skiing blacks beyond my skill levels after learning to ski at age 45 presented me with rotator cuff tears that will wait until retirement for repair and require I stay withing my envelope of 'comfort' or reap the whirlwind.
Easy, in many ways, easier than today, but also more casual and less profound.
If you were to start blog and publish texts on a blog, another than the Basenotes blogs some of us already contribute to,
what kind of blog would it be ("what kind" meaning here anything from its layout and fonts to its topics, contributors, links etc.)?
For me I would probably start an exotic locale travel blog with stories from the places together with photos and tips for future travelers who would want to experience that type of adventure.
Which current living political figure would you enjoy having a personal audience with while sharing a cup of coffee or tea?
What would you say is the average amount of time that passes for you between automobile purchases?
Forever! We drive them until they won't pass inspection anymore, and then we donate them to charity after that. Well, that goes for our station wagons anyway. Our station wagons have nicknames: The Wonder Wagon, The Rumbler, Brown Betty. We only have one at a time, I should clarify.
hahahahahahhahaha hednic! I was caught red handed.
Its been a long time since I was disrespected by anyone. I don't put myself in positions where I may end up being disrespected and at work I have developed a reputation of sorts where people know that I am not one to get loose with.
I recently (last week) had an employee whom I had a lot of respect for, betray my trust and share information with a business rival of mine. It hurt to the core ,but I learned a valuable lesson in the process.
Are you good at communicating messages to others non-verbally?
Yes both my wife and I are good at that.
We visited a tiny little town in China where we did not see a single letter from the Roman alphabet. Ordering food was a challenge but we did well.
I don't work in an environment where I have to take scheduled breaks.
I take breaks when I want to which is usually every 2 to 3 hours but they aren't scheduled.
I think it largely depends on how people choose to view these shows. Watching the Jersey Shore in and of itself doesn't make someone dumber, and the argument that the time could be better spent watching something else is erroneous. If all TV were filled with trashy reality shows then I think that would be the mark of a dumber society so I can't completely defend MTV either. In general, it's important to promote smarter and more well educated kids, and then when these kids watch an episode of Teen Mom it won't seem so bad because they'll have independent thinking to judge the content of those shows. I know this sounds dumb, but when I watch the Jersey Shore I often just view it as a big psychological experiment and therefore I sometimes even draw insight on human psych/philosophy from it.
That's the first issue that's kids/MTV related that popped into my head. Not sure if you were talking about something along the lines of "does MTV dumb our kids down". Maybe you were instead thinking about how MTV reveals to much sex and explicit content to children.
Personally, I would have no problem to exposure of kids to MTV, I just think that their viewing of ANY channel/broadcast by kids may need to be reconsidered, not it terms of parental control/child-proof lock, but trough which alternative to pop culture parents, school and the entourage might come up with
