The Question-Answer Game - Page 73

Deleted my previous answer. I was whining. New answer: I wish I could have the outside of my house painted.

How many children do you have (or if you do not have children, how many would you like to have)? I have none. As for how many I want...don't know.
I'd like to have as many as possible. The more the merrier. But realistically, 2-4 would be ideal so that I can educate them properly.

SQ.
I'm on the same boat as autumnleaves. no children, and I don't feel like having a children. I do ask myself from time to time if what I'm doing is rational.

I'd love to have lots of grandchildren though

One son.

How many times in your life have you changed career? Alternatively, do you see yourself staying with the same career throughout your working life, or do you anticipate changing a number of times?
I've never completely changed my career but I have a very wide set of skills. I see myself changing my career to unemployed with money in the bank.

I've never changed my career, and can't see myself changing at this juncture.

When was the last time you accidentally dropped something important and what was it?
I dropped my Chanel Antaeus just moments ago. It bobbled in my hands and jumped into the air by a lucky last touch. That gave me a fraction of a second to redirect my hands downward and catch it before it hit the floor!

I'll modify the question slightly. What was the last fragrance bottle that you broke? How did it happen?
Broke a $6 bottle of Fujiyama Homme by Success de Paris. Fell off the shelf on to concrete. Was easy to replace thankfully.

Are you the type of person who remains focused in what you are doing or do you get distracted easily?
Attention! Attention! Attention!

Wait...what was that question again?

Did you have a childhood 'invisible friend'?
nope.

Would you rather have been a teenager in today's generation or your own?
My own generation

Has someone ever inadvertently caused you great physical pain through an action he or she did?
I am sure! But I can only think of a 'sort of'. Last year, while visiting one of my clients, climbing her staircase to her porch, her stupid bloodhound "Beauregard" (I hate him) came crashing out of the front door to greet me and knocked me down the steps by bumping into my knee and making it crack backward. Nothing was broken, but I was badly bruised and my knee has honestly not recovered. The incident made for 'tense' relations for the remainder of the job, and I always felt she resented me somehow -- for harboring a grudge against her dog. Moreover, she never made proper amends, in my book: She gushed apologies after the incident and even wept, but did not once offer to pay for my medical care.

Anyway... LOL! Another sob story by: Hillaire.

Has anyone ever unwittingly 'made your day' (a friend or a stranger), just by doing something good, or loving... or inspired?
Just yesterday I came into my office and was surprised to find a beautiful lunch prepared by one of my employees waiting for me. It was very thoughtful as she knew what I liked. The kindness of one person put me in a very good mood for the whole day.

What are three things you expect from other people?
Well, one should expect more from themselves rather than from other people..that's my take on it I guess.

But 3 characteristics I would like in a person are:

Someone who gives to charity often, if they can
Compassionate
Humbleness

Do you like watching sports? Which ones?
Hardly any, but more than others, maybe boxing and sumo

Likewise, do you like watching documentaries and, if so, on which subject/topic and on which channel?
I thoroughly enjoy watching documentaries, especially ones that are dear to the heart. War and military documentaries can awe me sometimes, but I generally drift towards something with a heartfelt message.

SQ
I love documentaries especially flora and fauna type. And cultural. I am the hugest Globe Trekker (a show) fan.

If you could charter a boat or a plane , who would you request to come with you and to do what?

I'd charter a plane and invite both Ian Wright and Megan McCormick and we'd just travel off the beaten path. We'd take a non-stop four year trip around the world.
Rolf Bae and Eirik Sonneland to guide me on an exploration of Antarctica.

What are three strong characteristics of your personality?

Which hobby/extracurricular activity/informal passtime had the best influence on your professional life/career development?
Soccer, its not really a hobby so to say, its a passion and dream for me. The highs and lows and struggles and success experienced and the people I met have had a great influence on me. Im continuing to chase my dream although things havent been working out lately and I've got quite a few decisions to make soon.

What would be one recommendation and one avoidance that you would impart on a tourist who is about to arrive in your "neck of the woods"?
Well, do get out of the city proper to see the lakes and hills and rivers as nature made them! And better yet, get a cabin or b&b accommodation in a more natural area. The wildflowers this time of year are charming, too.

Don't blow your money on the whole 'famed' downtown music scene; unless you are under thirty it's a cacophonous bore. (IMO)

Visit the many luxurious and decadent hotels to enjoy the interiors, cafes, food, drink and rooms.
Buy plenty of gold (very very cheap here) and smoke sheesha if if you're not a smoker.

Ignore the blatant stares from Indians. That's how they are in thier country too.
If you drive, stay out of the left-most lane on highways. That's the autobahn lane. People can and will drive up to 200mph.

What is your ultimately pampering cosmetic/grooming/fragrance product (i.e. you might not always need it, but you nevertheless enjoy it, as a decadent treat, as the ultimate delight for special moments, as your comfort cosmetic/grooming/fragrance)?

Would you say you're an analytical person or disorganized?
Probably so analytical that I'd say you can be both disorganized and analytical, which I happen to be. I am, however, working on getting the disorganized part under control and have largely succeeded.

So, how do you really feel about vegans?
Actually, good, even if I am neither vegetarian, nor vegan, some of their foods taste great even for a meat lover, besides, I often rethink and redo certain recipes in completely vegetarian/vegan style, not because of dieting, health concerns, ethical/religious reasons whatsoever, but simply to widen my experience and further heighten my gustatory sensation

If someone has upset you or wronged you do you let them know or seethe silently?
It really depends on the severity of the personal transgression and the person involved.

What kind of lighting predominates at your home?

I think that's the 20,000 dollar question, or shall I say..20,000th post almost..wow. That's a lot of posts! Oh Idk, energy efficient bulbs.

Do you eat fast food? Favorites if any?

Well, today the small stuff I don't care about! As I just left my purse with everything in it at the store, I return 2 hours later and someone turned it in!

I was like omgosh someone for sure stole it! I left it in the shopping cart outside! Someone turned it in to lost and found. Nothing touched. There was 20 dollars in cash they didn't even take! Good thing, it was my laundry money!

So, going on that..have you ever found something of value and turned it in to lost and found or something?
I'm so happy for you kalli.

I actually found a single note (1,000 dirhams) worth about $350 at the cash deposit machine for paying phone bills. Turned it in to the local police station.

What image takes your breath away?

Mine:

I've never found anything of great value, but I would turn it in if I did, or try to return it to its rightful owner.

Have you ever lost valuable things? (I left an expensive raincoat on a train, lost jewelry, my wallet a couple of times. Not lately, I'm more careful now, this was years ago).

oops, I'm late! I'll be back.

Kalli, no wonder you aren't worrying about the small stuff today! So glad your purse was returned. I had my wallet returned once, by mail, I was so glad I can hardly tell you.

I once found a purse in a dressing room at a clothing store, and it was sitting open, with a lot of cash in sight. And yes, I took it to the cash desk right away.

If you found a good amount of money - let's say, on the roadside in the weeds, how much could it amount to before you'd feel you would have to turn it in? ( no wallet, etc. or ID with it of course )

Who was the last interesting character you met on one of your travels or trips?
One of my cousins on the gulf coast last November. She is in her 60s and a total free spirit. She has a boyfriend she refuses to marry (she is a widow). She lost her home in Katrina, then rebuilt it (a little farther back) on the same property, and still has the most happy go lucky attitude of anyone I know. I think it is a gift.

In what way are you just like your mother or father?

Father: Love of sports, fascination of history, proud patriots of our background and blood.

Mother: Down-to-earth personality, inability to stick with personal goals.

People say I look like my father when friends see him, people say I look like my mother when friends see her, so cant say lol.

Mother: Superb empathy, kind, caring, willingness to help others.

I have my mothers eyes and unfortunately, my fathers hairline!

Hillaire, I think you should start a new thread with this question. Very interesting.

I can identify myself with the dreamer archetype. I always hope for things that are too good to be true, but never lose faith that they will eventually come. It costs nothing to dream, why not.

I identify with the gambler, for in my work I have to make very important decisions that can affect a lot of people and sometimes it pays off; other times not.

What special knowledge do you have that you can impart on other for their benefit?
