What is your favorite completely modern instrumental tune?
If it may be considered like this, "For an angel" by Paul Van Dyk, closely followed by certain pieces by Mike Oldfield, Jean Michel-Jarre and Michael Nyman among others

(Irrespective if your country of residence and/or origin is an European one) which European country would you choose, especially if money, time, logistic, organizational etc. concerns were no issue, would your choose to spend most of personal and professional life in (for me, it would be most likely Austria - classy lifestyle at comparably affordable costs, stunning cultural life, great landscapes, impressive historical past, pretty close by any means of transportation to most European tourist attractions, opulent, well-stocked, diversified and civil fragrance stores, quiet yet modern residence areas etc.)?

Have you ever been awakened from sleep to find yourself cornered by a madwoman?

LOL!!! (And yes, I have. Her name was... my mother.)

I don't snore, but apparently I thrash and jerk about.

If you were given a painting by Rembrandt, what would you do? Sell it to a museum? Or keep it for posterity and pleasure? Etc.?
(I ask because this really happened to me [not].)
I'd trade the painting for one Caravaggio, two bottles of Jean Patou PH and three million dollars.

Unless of course, the painting was given to me by Rembrandt himself which would make the whole thing rather awkward to explain.

If you could instantly learn three languages. Which ones would they be?
"Um, Rembrandt, um, yeah man. I totally still have it. My mom is borrowing it because it's so great." "Oh that smell? Yeah, I wish it was Patou PH; just a cheap copy, I'm afraid."

I'd instantly learn Mandarin, Hindi, and Arabic.

Which daily activity do you find to be tedious?
Some aspects of my work (though there are enough passionate, witty, entertaining details to make up for it, also thanks to my work), certain aspects of grocery shopping (though, again, shopping is on other levels a hobby for me, rather than a chore), bad television programs during the days I decide to watch TV, receiving too many phone calls.

I know it's condemnable and unethical, I know it glorifies and embellishes crime, but is there any fictional gangster/mobster you nevertheless like?

Watches, wine and spirit bottles, recordings of film and music, fashion (both garments and accessories, though I also consider watches and frags being part of my fashion tastes), books, various cooking and household appliances, cosmetics and quite abundant quantities of significant counter values in terms of hardware, software, expendables, stationery, writing material, electric and electronic components and gadgets etc. for my everyday work.

What creative, 'consumable' effort (other than perfume and fine 'art') so you appreciate the most??

PS Ken Russel, I really enjoy your posts; you always seem to have taken the time to express your thoughts surrounding your answer. And a purposeful sort-of honesty comes across that is inherent in your having taken the time to make your point clear. I am always delightfully surprised to find my 'higher' brain-focus kicking in, while reading through the thread.

Where do you stand on vaccinating school-age children?

I don't have children, but I believe it is preferable to the alternative.
People are within their rights to refuse.

I agree with Hillaire about Ken Russell’s posts – they are always thoughtful and interesting to read.

I was vaccinated for one thing after another as a school age child, and I’m still here in reasonably good health. I suppose it is up to parents to do the research and make an informed decision. I’m all for their right to do that, particularly as I have no great faith in Big Pharma's altruistic motives..

What’s on the agenda for the weekend? (Me: botanical gardens).

USA.

How do you deal with negative people on the net, beyond ignoring them?

Secretly pull your hair out, jump up and down and swear at the screen a few times. Then settle down, ask for divine guidance to deal with morons and hope for the best !

I try to make them see the positive way of things, but it's unfruitful the great part of times, and I end being influenced by them (my mood becomes bad, angry, sad).

Would you prefer a villa in the countryside or a mansion in the suburbs?

How about owning/renting your ideal flat/apartment/loft/suite - in which kind of building should it be situated (townhouse, block, villa, multi-story condo, hotel, gated residential community - maybe also including some of the aforementioned building types etc.)?
Multi-story condo. I love condos.
I like historical buildings but also modern ones.

Wich coast of USA or Europe do you preffer?
I prefer East Coast (especially eastern Long Island beaches; and Outer Banks beaches are pristine and beautiful), but I’ve seen some breathtaking areas in the Pacific Northwest that I would love to return to. Haven’t seen much of the West Coast, actually, but perhaps one day I shall. My mother was born in San Diego. The only coastal areas of Europe I’ve seen are some of the Côte d'Azur of France, and around Málaga in Spain. They were both great. I love to visit coastal areas anywhere. My dream is to live in a little seaside village – nothing fancy.
