Has anyone tried Surrati Black Aoud (supposed to mimic Montale Black Aoud)

I wonder if anyone has any experience of this please?!

I'm considering buying a cannister from Zahra's Boutique but I could not find any reference to it here other than within the Surrati Tom Ford mimic thread, which has some good reviews for that particular scent.

I would be happy if the Surrati comes close enough to Montale given the price. Zahra's ebay listing says little other than that it is actually stronger (wow!).

Thanks

I wore the Surrati and the Montale Black Oudh/Aoud side by side last night and I'm very happy with my 5ml Surrati purchase. It starts out with more of an oudy medicinal whump than the Montale, which is all velvety red roses by comparison. By the middle they are very close - warm, a little spicey, the rose becoming drier and powderier. It can't compete with Montale's staying power though - about 5 hours before you're itching for another dab or two, and as an oil it stays closer to the skin. It's a great dark rose bang for your buck though!

you can get black aoud on ebay for a great price, I would rather go for that

Yes, it is like Black oud. If you want to try, I have listed a 3ml roll-on on Ebay. Pretty powerful stuff for a citrus lover like me.

I received this reply from Zahras:

The Surrati Black Aoud is the same as the Montale - however it is in Oil and much stronger and longer lasting.

The CLones of famous blends are same as the famous one but in Oil.

Its true, last longer than Montale? Cause the Surrati is very unexpensive.

It´s been a long time since my last post. Good to be back!

No, it doesn´t last as long as BA. And no, it´s not exactly like BA, although the rose/oud/patchouli-note is very similar. If you ask me, it comes off a little cheap, when compared side by side with the real thing. I don´t regret my 3ml purchase though. Would I buy a big 100ml bottle? Definitely not, I´d try to get the original BA, like suggested above.

Wearing my Black Aoud (Concentrated Parfum Oil) by Surrati today

Mine is a decant 1 tola (12ml) of pure oil. The homage is VERY close to the original, maybe more smooth and as much rich as the Montale one.
Sillage is not bombastic and longevity is good, but i only dabbed very shortly on skin (equivalent of 1 spray or less)
I liking this one a lot. Not harsh and rancid in the opening as the montale.

It seems Surrati's are half price of Montale's. I would like to know whether the longevity of Surrati Black Oud is half of Montale's as well, or the duration is less than half?

P.S. oops. I found the thread mentioning the longevity shortly after posting.
