First wear test of Neroli Portofino today. Wore it to work with 4 sprays. It was slighltly sharp right out of the gate, so I'm glad I applied at home just before making my drive, as that gave...
I don't recommend everyone to try the Eau de Parfum concentration. The beauty of Roja's perfumes lives in the interaction of a sumptuous base with the heart notes, after a bright start (bergamot...
Guerlain Homme -- lime and minty, light and zesty. A very nice citrus scent, which reminds me of a cold and sparkling drink on a hot summer day while lying on the beach under that big umbrella....
A nice, smooth, vetivery aromatic fougere quite in the same vein with Loewe Esencia. While it smells slightly better and softer than Esencia, its performance is disappointing. Apply generously,...
I picked up a 30 ml decant of Windsor last week and love it. I wish I had picked up 50-100 ml instead. This week I ordered a 100 ml Montale Black Aoud and a 20 ml travel bottle of Cuir d'Arabie
PASCAL MORABITO "OR BLACK" 1982 Parfumeur Jean Louis Sieuzac
Vintage - non reformulated version
I think that I had bought the two last 100ml bottles in my country. One for my argentinian friend Pollux, and the other for my collection!
An amazing fragrance, smoky, leathery, with beautiful accords and well blended
Seems like online discount sites really jacked up the price of Creeds since I bought my last fragrance... So I ended up buying these retail so I didn't have to wait for them.
- 4oz Creed Millesime Imperial
- 4oz Creed Virgin Island Water
- 6.8oz Terre d'Hermes
- 4.2oz Polo Double Black
Two scents I've been dying to own, and decided to treat myself to as an early Christmas present (that's how I'm justifying it anyway ). Cannot wait for that parcel to arrive at my door!
Portrait of a Lady by Dominique Ropion x Frederic Malle 3.4oz

PG - L'Ombre Fauve

Probably the last Guerlain Derby Bee Bottle over here - had been planning on Derby for a while but the thought of the new bottle pulled it to the front of the list.
I am also excited to have received a 50ml bottle of Andy Tauer'ssuper Limited Edition Le Cologne du Maghreb... his 2010 occasional advent calendar fragrance.
I will be writing a full review and giving you the opportunity to win a bottle in Andy's advent giveaway on my blog in days to come! Stay tuned!
Notes include grasses, berries, resins and flowers.
I wore that once. It had a lot going on. To me, it was like a massive car wreck that you just had to stop and look and once drawn in, wow, you could not leave. I can not wear it, but I think if you can, everyone should try it like I did.
How is it? I was thinking about picking it up myself...
I actually really like it. I can't really describe it that well, especially since I've never smelled DG By Man, which it's often compared to. But, it's a slightly sweet and spicy scent that doesn't feel very heavy at all, perhaps a little powder in there too. It's good stuff.
Nice one Mike - I like Ode a la Vanille a lot, hope you enjoy it. A lot more thought has gone into it than the name might suggest IMO - it's like TW cleared space for the vanilla and then didn't use the vanilla you might expect . . . I think it's a very subtle and satisfying take on a classic.
Hit Guerlain on the weekend with Frowned Upon & Coconut (homme and femme respectively) and they were both also very pleasantly surprised.
having spent a wonderful weekend in London with my wife, here are the fruits of our 'journey'....
Amouage - Homage for my wife, and Epic + Opus IV
Annick Goutal - Encens Flamboyant
Le Labo - Patchouli 24 + Oud 27
Ormonde Jayne - Ta'If for my wife
Chanel Antaeus. I have not owned this one for a few years now. I first smelled it in college in either '85 or '86. I sampled it in Bloomingdale's a few weeks back and I decided it was time again, even if it's been "tweaked". A buddy in college wore it to great effect. He rocked Antaeus and I rocked Kouros.
Guerlain "Teracotta Eau Sous le Vent" perfumed mist and tan enhancer (2009).
A variation on "Teracotta Voile d'été" and Jacques Guerlain's 1910 composition: "Quand vient l’été".
Two scents I've been dying to own, and decided to treat myself to as an early Christmas present (that's how I'm justifying it anyway ). Cannot wait for that parcel to arrive at my door!
Love Bulgari black.
Tonight whilst at Marshall's in podunkville, TX, came across a gift set of John Varvatos - at $29 it was a steal for the 3.4oz EDT and lotion. My guess was the package was damaged but the bottles were pristine.
They also had Faconnable (the original one) for $24 but I passed on that scent, IMO it is undistinguished.
