The bottle looks heavy, metallic and expensive:

Looks nice. I hope it is a Rush reincarnate!

The bottle looks like something from Diesel...

Based on recent Gucci releases, I have a feeling this may be the only good thing about it. But I guess we shall see......

I don't like the bottle and the color scheme at all! But I'd be interested in trying a simple, clean but non-white musk, non-aquatic composition. I'd like to see how prominant the orange blossom is. This may be a good choice for next spring and summer.

I was looking at the ad... the model has a weird Bill Murray pout going on--he's trying to look sexy but it's just goofy .
bottle looks great.
a long lasting citrus is always welcome in my opinion, and if they are confident enough to publish it as the single heart note, this may be good.

He is an actor Chris Evans.

I think it's the ugliest bottle that Gucci ever made. It also seem inspired at True Religion's masculine bottle:

I got a little bit worried about the fragrance too. From the list of notes, it sounds generic and the last gucci fragrances for men (gucci by gucci and gucci by gucci) were nothing amazing.
Gucci seem to make great fragrances for women of late but their men's fragrances??? Meh.

Gucci by Gucci for women is lovely, Guilty for women is also absolutely lovely. But Gucci by Gucci Homme is a nothingness and the Sport version smells like cats pee.

I actually quite like that bottle if I'm honest.
the women's version is divine!

Is the women's version very feminine or could a guy pull it off??
That last men's fragrance of Gucci's is one of the worst I've ever smelled. It was like...nothing. Like water and alcohol and salt. Absolutely *dreadful*.

I found it too girlie for myself, but many here wear far more feminine frags.
I was wondering if this would happen and here it is.....Will have to wait and see.....Gary
post #26 of 126
hmm..very interested to see what this one smells like.

Gucci has been weird for me

Gucci Pour Homme 1 and Gucci Pour Homme 2 i LOVE

but Gucci by Gucci and the Sport addition...terrible...my friend gave me the gucci by gucci for free and the only reason its in my fragrance cabinet is that the bottle is awesome
post #27 of 126
The bottle kind of reminds me of True Religion for men.

I have to say I really like the print ad it is sexy but not in the skanky way Gucci advertisements usually are -
post #30 of 126
This darn well better be good ! I'm getting a bit impatient with newer releases. The notes look pretty decent. I don't expect a groundbreaking scent, just something acceptable.

I like the idea of the ad but his chesthair is really off-putting imo
post #32 of 126
I think it's good to finally see some chest hair in an ad. The bottle I'm iffy about. Something about it just looks cheap, even though I can see they are trying to make it look weighty and perhaps classy.

The notes list sounds ok, and I'd love another male fragrance with prominent orange blossom notes. The women's is rather good with a strong lilac note (it reminds me of Omnia Amethyste but is more overtly sexy/extroverted), so there is hope here that the floral aspects are going to be pronounced in the mens as well.
I think the bottle is butt-ugly. Thank goodness Mr. Chris Evans' chest (and chest hair) saves the ad (LOL).

I'm not holding my breath on this one guys - it's been quite a while since a Gucci fragrance wowed me. Once Tom Ford left the line, IMO, things went downhill fragrance-wise.
A few observations about the comments to this point:

1) Several comments about the guy and his chest hair. What about the female model? She's kind of cute in profile. No?

2) I actually don't think the bottle is awful. I think they may have been trying to also copy Aventus a bit too, by wrapping the bottom in something. I like it better than the Marc Jacob's Bang bottle. I'm probably in the minority here, but I thought the Bang bottle was horrible. It is a nice concept, and looked good in ads, but in person I thought it was gaudy and awkward to hold.

3) As for the juice, you guys probably nailed it. I have not been very impressed with any of the masculine releases. I did like the way Guilty Pour Femme smelled, though, so I'll be interested to sample this one.

anyone know the name of the girl in the ad? Shes gorgeous

Gucci by Gucci is weird to me. I don't dislike it but I don't like it alot either. Ambivalent. The first time I really thought it would be goof for work and then the other testings have me going "uh." The Sport version is absolutely trash and horrible. Hoepfully this is better than those. I wonder when this one shows up if the Sport disappears.
Hmm this is weird. This thread motivated me to give Gucci by Gucci another try, and i actually really like it. I dont really really like it. But i think its a good smell. Its masculine and sweet. But the Sport version i know i hate for sure. Id rather wear Axe Body Spray.

But hey..i think im slowly finding my favorite fragrance house potentially? I mean Gucci Pour Homme 1 is slowly(very slowly) potentially creeping in as my number one favorite fragrance. Gucci Pour Homme 2 is definitely going to be in my next updated Top 10, and now Gucci By Gucci is certainly something i find myself enjoying right now as im smelling myself .

I guess im inclined to go to Sephora and try Gucci Envy, because i saw they had it there but i for some reason didnt try it

And now im even more excited for this new release!

Very classy release, not your typical sweats and stained tee-shirt scent like Le Male.

It's not out yet, you probably smelled Gucci by Gucci. Did the bottle look like this?

Edit: Unless you're referring to Envy.
Envy For Men is gorgeous. Apparently it's being discontinued though. Musc Ravageur is quite similar though, but a lot pricier alas.

No i quite distinctly saw Guilty...I'll double check tomorrow

This is impossible. Sure you tried Guilty for women.
From the notes it sounds like it will be a sheer woody-soapy fragrance with citrus topnotes. Hope only it won't be too sweet in the drydown and too soapy

YUP! Trying to make a huge profit from little resources.
Well, based on Chris Evans' (guy in the poster) resume... This fragrance will be:

...laughable.

i gota admit i do like the bottle...

That's because Gucci (P&G) is hard to contact for fragrances. I had a sample that I created and sent and never heard anything from them. My formula is totally different than what they have chosen. I can make this myself, so why even bother to buy it.
From WWD- The fragrance will launch, in Europe, beginning in March. Prices are $59/1.7, $75/3.1. No set date for a U.S. launch but Gucci usually doesn't delay rollout for long.

Just got done with a seminar and got to sample it!!!! We all loved it and can't wait for the release. To me it was mostly woods in the base but you defiantly get the amber as well and the lavender is fairly present. By the time I got my card the top notes were mostly gone. It's expected to ship in April and hit shelves by may. Msrp is 57 for 1.6 and 73 for 3.0 I also have the pricing for the shampoos and what not if anyone is interested
post #58 of 126
So you can confirm that it does actually smell of *something*, unlike Gucci by Gucci? That's a start at least!

Sounds like it's sticking close enough to the women's to be interesting (I like the women's fairly well already). Thanks for the early news.

It defiantly has hints from the womens guilty but is defiantly masculine and smells amazing.
