le male - real or fake.... (+a twist)

hi folks,
i bought a jpl le male, here in India
bought from a 'known' online perfume portal (in india)
75ml for about 70 usd

but i am not too sure about how legit it really is
here are the arguments

(+)
came sealed in plastic wrapping ( http://img340.imageshack.us/i/21122010594.jpg/ )
even though the box is pretty beat up (bad handeling), it doesn't look like the wrapping was tampered with (pics are 'Post Opening')
is this the real plastic wrap ?
(+)
the strips printed on the bottle are legit, and do not come off when rubbed with fingernails
( http://img529.imageshack.us/i/21122010599.jpg/ )
(+)
bottom of the bottle has the engravings, looks legit ,as posted by several other posters comparing real vs fake 'le male' ( http://img443.imageshack.us/i/21122010597.jpg/ )

(-)
the bottle did not have the safety ring... that comes around the neck
( http://img716.imageshack.us/i/21122010598.jpg/ )
(-)
the bottle serial number and the tin can serial numbers do not match
bottle - LW778 X
tin can - LYW85 X
(-)
the bottle does not have GAULTIER engraved on the back

(*)
and heres there kicker / twist
the serial number on my bottle matches the serial number on a Tin can posted by the user - MFfan310
in the post - http://www.basenotes.net/threads/225...hotos-enclosed)

since it is a 'known (startup)' company selling it, i do have a SMALL window where in if i can be sure that it is fake, i can open a discussion with them and they would work with the issue to find a solution.

I think its fake for the missing word Gaultier in the back of the neck.
But try it on skin. If last for less than 3 hours, for sure its fake.

Older models of Le Male didn't have Gaultier on the back.

I don't even see a pic of the back of the bottle..

This is true, however the bottom of the can has the domain. If you're talking about going back to 95, 96, or even 99, I don't believe they printed domain names on any products until more recently (past 5-7 years). Then too, it could be a fake bottle in a new can.

Also, (and lol, sorry though) I notice the bottle's pecks to be uneven, unless that's just the angle of the juice inside, it actually looks like Le Male has moobs!

I don't know about the 2.5 oz bottles, but my 1.3 oz does not have Gaultier engraved on the back, and I bought it retail from a well known department store in person. That said, the kicker for me was the codes not matching, and the pecs on the bottle are terribly uneven, obvious to anyone who looks at the bottle for more than five seconds. I'd say with very strong certainty that the bottle's a fake.

the pecs are perfectly even, what you see in the photo is the air bubble, formed due to (spills via) mis handeling while shipping

i sprayed this on the back of my hand last night, and now 11 hours later i can smell a very faint sweetish smell if i hold my hand very close to my nose

a sealed bottle from a manufacturer doesn't spill in shipping unless the bottle breaks. also, if this was supposedly new, I find it hard to believe the JPG would just forget to put a bottle ring on the top. I'm still leaning toward fake.

HOW much for HOW much??

Sorry to dishearten you buddy but this is absolutely fake. No doubt about that. Most importantly the serial both on can and bottle must match. If they are not matching means its fake.
Also the quality of the cellophane wrapping around the can looks suspicious and uneven.

Agree in this case.

I agree but this is nearly a year old.
