Gourmand - please help

Looking for a really well projecting/lasting gourmand that has lots of coffee and chocolate in it.
Suggestions?

L'Instant Extreme Guerlain projects nice and not too loud
If you want lots of power go with Pure Malt or Pure Coffee for sure

A*Men seems like the logical answer, but it's not for everyone. I've disliked this one from the first sniff and have never looked back. Some adore this one and you very well may get compliments as well, but it does have a tar/patchouli thing going on that may or may not work for you. But certainly give it a sniff. Also, Givenchy Very Irresistible has a similar vibe, but more of a hazelnut feel. But I think a good starting point for someone checking out gourmands is Rochas Man. It's not as complex as A*Men, but a safer choice IMO.

I strongly disagree with RM suggestions, as OP emphasizes on longevity and projection being an important thing. RM doesn't do well in either department for half the people that own it; where as A*Men will make you stick out like a sore thumb.

Personally, my take on Rochas Man.. I don't get any coffee from it.. rather a chocolate/vanilla note combined as one.. I guess it reminds me of a Wendy's Frosty. Then as it dries it turns into more of a light strawberry ice cream..

A*Men, for me, has a very long lasting rich fudge note/accord, with a coffee note. More of a mocha type coffee note, definitely not hazelnut. I don't get the tar until way into the dry down, and it isn't very pronounced on my skin. Nor is the patchouli, for that matter.

A lot of people seem to get a brownie type smell from A*Men. I guess I'd say that A*men is kinda like that picture of the old lady/pretty lady perspective picture. Some will see the pretty, some will see the ugly. For me, A*Men might be described as the bottom of a burnt brownie cake pan. The first time I sampled this, I felt like a fat sweaty salesman. Of course, impressions of this will certainly be improved if done in colder weather.

A*men. I hated it at first but I rather like it now.
It is rather heavy on the patchouli so me sure that you like this note.

Rochas Man did nothing for me.
The basenotes were very bitter and a bit sour on my skin, not nice at all.
Thankfully it did only last for a couple of hours.

Rochas Man is a well blended chocolate, coffee, and vanilla scent with a bit of lavender (?) up top.
A*Men has a minty note up top. If you're familiar with Andes Candies, that's the kind of vibe it gives off.

To my nose it's Chocolate Mocha vs. Mint Chocolate...

Go Rochas.

Rochas is good but its neither well projecting or long lasting.. A*Men is Godzilla on both fields, while having more chocolate than Rochas.

rather than smelling like everybody else, get the excellent animale animale which lasts and projects very nicely, and is constructed perfectly.
there's nothing cloying about it; scent-wise it compares to the most expensive niche colognes.
aa is a smooth elegant essence to a*men's camp nauseaus chocolate and patchouli mess.
just my two (s)cents.

You can also try Givenchy Play Intense that reminds me lot original A*Men but is maybe bit more polite.
